Most consumers have no idea that, they can remove inaccurate and outdated items  from their credit reports themselves.  It has been found that credit reports contain not only good and negative items, but also outdated and inaccurate information. But its time that the reporting companies are held responsible for the inaccurate items that are plaguing consumers credit files. How can credit reporting agencies continue to be  in business? When the majority of the items on consumers credit reports are outdated, inaccurate or better yet, just not their items. Someone is not dong their job!

Most people think that Credit reporting agencies" are government supervised

But the truth isCredit reporting companies are out to make a buck just like any other large business. The credit reporting business makes billions of dollars by selling credit reports to creditors. Which is amazing just think about it, your credit report is sold to others, and they reap the profits.

Some consumers think that it is illegal to remove the mistakes off of their credit  reports. But be aware the mistakes are not yours, its the credit reporting companies mistake,  and because of them making so many errors and mistakes,  this gives a reason to question their reporting ethics. This is one reason why you have the right to dispute, items on your credit reports. But when you do dispute items, and the company is a collection agency, they will come after you with a vengeance whether the items is correct or not. The item can be a case of mistaken identity, but still in most cases this want stop a collection agency nor, will it remove the item unless you have documents of proof such as a police report. The 1970 Fair credit Reporting Act, Section1681e, is suppose to protects your rights, but the majority of the time this option give you little to no help.

Today, the credit reporting system consist of millions of computer files about consumers which is poorly maintained by the three credit reporting agencies.    These are files which contain your personal information about, you and all of your credit issue, concerning your employment,  your outstanding debts and your payment history, and many other records which are all about you.

This is how  your information gets into your credit report. When you except credit from finance companies, or submit an application for employment you will be subjected to various background check, and when this information is reported to the reporting agencies by  the creditor, its called green light lets go which provides, credit reporting company the rights to your information which is then reported.  Pubic records is another source, because everything that you are involved in whether its a traffic ticket, utility bills or court records, you should always remember that public means that anyone can view your personal files.

This is how  credit reporting agencies work. The creditors which are, banks, retail stores, and utility companies, pay the credit reporting companies a certain amount of money each month, which in-turns gives the creditors the authority to report your payment history, to the credit reporting companies each month. The credit reporting companies then give that information to  regional reporting companies who sell it to retailers and banks who requests information about you.

Consumers today should be concerned about their credit reports.   Because your credit is used to determine if creditors will allow you credit. If you have inaccurate information on your credit report, you may not get a particular job, or you maybe turned down for low interest loans. Your credit scores and credit history all play a part in receiving credit.

Your credit is important, so take care of it.

Very good article on a corrupt system...Did you know they recently "raised the bar" on FICO scores? Now, grades of A to F also define your score. A double whammy affect! A friend of mine has a score of 697, which is, by their standards today a D.

The credit rating system is literally destroying individual credit and personal character status. In case you don’t know, it also could affect your ability to get or keep a job. Employers often use a credit report when they hire and evaluate employees for promotion, reassignment, or retention.
