Questions of A Temporary Dog Owner
67I Got Stuck Watching The Dog
I am NOT a dog person, my idea of the perfect pet, is a rock, or maybe a star, but a living, breathing creature is too much responsibility. I do not travel a lot, but when I do, I like having the option to come and go as I please, so having to rush home to walk, feed or allow a pet do it's business or face the consequences is not my idea of a good situation.
So how is it I got stuck looking after my daughter's mutt, well like most dads, i am a sucker. See one things my mother always taught us, was not to mistreat animals. So my wife and daughter head out to a family gathering, I happily rejected my invite. Mining my own business, I suddenly hear the mutt whining, she is in one of the little dog carriers, she is some kind of mini dog, so I guess it would not hurt to take here outside and let her do her things, as it has been a couple of hours.
Question All Non-Dog Owners Ponder
Coco, something, is her name and she is very hyper. So as Coco is running about like an escaped convict. I start to ponder a few questions.
- Why do people get pets and know they can't spend the time with them that the pet deserves. I know of a lot of animals pent up while their master go on with life.
- Why do people get dogs, and not teach them any tricks, growing up the only difference between a mutt and a good dog; is the tricks it could do. I have not decided about the ones that run around in rings, I am sure they take a lot of training, but they do not seem like pets.
- How do you get dogs to use the toilet. I enjoy the outdoors as much as the next person, but not when I have to get dress just to go outside.
- How do you teach a dog to flush the toilet, after getting them to use it of course.
- Why don't older dogs teach younger dogs to avoid fleas. you would think by now, the dogs themselves would have figured this out; or maybe fleas or a dogs version of flies and roaches.
Anyway, she has had her fun, so it is back inside her lil cottage, I thinks she runs free at home, but we are visiting friends an d I know I hate dog hair on me, so we definitely don't want her shedding in someone else home. Oh there is another one, Why do dogs always seem to shed on your best clothes.
