If you have ever been put in a tight financial situation where your only way out was to get your hands on some fast cash, then I'm sure that you've most likely considered cash advances or payday loans as one potential way to take care of it. This method of getting the money that you need isn't always considered to be the best option out there, but in instances where your cash flow issues are temporary and seeking emergency loans is necessary, applying for a cash advance is a legitimate (although expensive) way to ease your financial strain. But, before you begin choosing which lender you want to go with and thinking that you're going to get through this easier than you thought, there are a few things that you should know about before officially deciding that getting a quick cash advance is the route you're willing to take.

This article will educate you a bit on the ins and outs of getting a cash advance or payday loan and all of the things that you need to consider before signing on the bottom line. I'm not doing this because I don't feel like you should be considering a cash advance, because in certain situations that can be a very helpful way to get out of a pinch. I just want to make sure that if you are seriously thinking about getting one that you know all sides of the story before you get too deep in the process.

A Great Option If You Have Bad Credit

One of the first things that is great about pay day loans and cash advances is that there is never any credit check required like there is with any other type of traditional secured or non-secured loan. In fact, as far as I know, these are the only type of no credit check loans that are available, period. With traditional loans it's become basically impossible for lenders to accept anyone who has bad or even below-average credit. I mean, bad credit loans have practically gone the way of the Dodo bird - you can't find them anywhere. For instance, I have a credit score of just right under 700 and it's still been a challenge to find a bank or credit union that would seriously consider accepting me. But, like I said, this isn't something that you will ever need to worry about when looking to borrow some money from a cash advance lender.

Of course, even though payday loan lenders don't run an official credit check on you when evaluating your loan application they do have other guidelines that they tend to go by. These guidelines are put into place as a way to keep their loan liability as small as possible so that they can feel comfortable that you're going to be able to repay the money that you've been loaned (as well as the fees that they require you to pay). If you're looking to get a fast cash advance, here are some of the more common requirements that you'll see most often by the types of lenders who supply them:

  • Age: Most applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age, with some of the more specialized cash advance lenders requiring that you're 21 years of age.
  • Income Level: You'll need a minimum income level (take home) somewhere in the range of $1,000 - $1,500 per month.
  • Checking Account: You'll need to prove that you have a valid checking account and if you're looking at getting an online cash advance you will also need to be able to accept electronic payments.
  • State Law: You'll need to follow your state's payday loan laws when seeking out a lender. These state laws will set the rules on how much money you can borrow, how long you can borrow it and even if you are allowed to get one in the first place. if you're looking for an online payday loan most lenders will determine this first thing so you really won't need to worry about it.
  • Other Payday Loans: If you're currently paying off a payday loan or have a history of getting payday loans, then this could potentially hurt your chances in getting approved for another one.

As you can see, these rules aren't too strict and as long as your state allows you to get a payday loan, then there shouldn't really be any reason why you won't be able to get accepted for one.

Looking Online For A Cash Advance?

If you've ever driven through any decent size city, then I'm sure that you've seen a payday lending retail location. Some of the more popular types of these include Check N Go, Check Into Cash, Loan Mart, Cash America and Advance America and they're seen in strip malls and on street corners all over the United States. Up until the rise of the Internet the past few years, these were usually the only options available if you were looking to get some quick cash into your packet, but now there are lots of online cash advance lenders out there who are just waiting to help you out with your cash flow issues.

These online lenders, such as Magnum Cash Advances, are an easy way to get approved for the money that you need without ever having to step foot in an actual retail location. This is especially great for those of you who might not have a retail location nearby (or for those of you who don't necessarily want to be seen walking into one). Online payday lenders can basically get you the same types of loans that you would get with your standard store location, but of course they don't provide the ease of mind that sometimes talking to a loan specialist face-to-face can sometimes give you.

If you're seriously considering going with these types of online cash advance lenders, here are the basic steps that you'll need to go through before getting approved:

  1. Once you've researched and found the online lender that you're comfortable with, you'll need to fill out their online application.
  2. This online application will ask you what state you currently live in, your current take-home income, your birth date and other information that they use to decided whether or not they can approve you.
  3. You will also need to enter the amount of the loan you are wanting to get approved for. This can usually range anywhere from $100 to $1,500.
  4. If they accept your application as is, then they will need to get your checking account information so that they can deposit your loan directly into your account and so that they can withdraw their money back once your loan plus fees is due back to them.
  5. If they still need more information on your current financial standing, they may require you to fax into some documents that show you're telling the truth. These documents usually include recent pay stubs and lease agreements.

This process can move fairly quickly and some lender claim to be able to approve you for a 1 hour cash advance, which I think is nearly impossible. Most online lenders will get you the money the next business day, but if you're looking for something faster then you might just want to visit a payday loan retail store since they can get you a check or cash the same day.

Good Luck Getting Your Loan!

I hope that all of this information has been helpful in your decision-making and I guess all that I can say now is good luck in finding a lender that works for you and in getting out of your current financial situation as smoothly as possible. If this is your first cash advance the only parting advice is that if you do end up getting accepted for your loan that you pay it off as quickly as possible and never make applying for one a habit. Get whatever you need to pay of paid off, pay off your loan then try to keep your finances in order so that you never have to apply for one ever again.

Good informative article. But you have advised to pay it off as quickly as possible. In most cases, this is not possible. On the contrary, the borrowers falls into a vicious circle and goes on borrowing.

Once my credit-card company billed me for some purchase I had hardly made 3 days ago against their clear policy of atleast 15 days credit in any case. When contacted, I was informed that I was a free rider, no defaults, no loans, no participation in their promotions like purchasing from their nominated stores.

I like Debt Card issued by Visa.

Instead of writing how to borrow upto the hilt, kindly write an article how to save money or look for thrift shop, discount-stores, off-the-way supper saving malls. Also how to supplement income.
