Here's a meal you can make really quick, fast, and easy that's going to help you build muscle, burn fat -- whatever you want to do -- and it's a great breakfast meal. You already know that breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. Well, this is what I have for breakfast because it's quick and I've got to get out the door and I don't have time for the cooking and things like that. It will only take a few minutes to make this healthy breakfast idea.

Healthy Breakfast Recipe

Marc's Healthy Breakfast Idea

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of regular oats (not the quick kind)
  • 1 scoop of whey protein powder
  • 1 tbs Udos 3-6-9 oil
  • 1 cup of 1% milk
  • 1 regular banana

Instructions:

Just mix it all up. I don't cook the oats as I like to eat them raw. This mixes very well and tastes great. It's fast, cheap and offers up some significant energy benefits and will keep you filled up for hours. Adjust the portions as necessary for your specific calorie needs or modify the ingredients to your preferences.

Nutritional Analysis

Here's the estimated nutritional details for the healthy breakfast idea:

*Adjust your portions as necessary. Make any substitutions or reductions. Feel free to use a different brand of oats, elminate the milk or use soy and/or get your healthy fats in another manner. This is simply a baseline from which to start.*

Question & Answer

Question: Do I have to eat the oats raw?

Answer: Absolutely not. While one could argue that the oats in their rawest form require the most energy to digest, that's just a technically in my opinion. If you prefer to cook the oats, nuke them in a microwave or warm them up first, go right ahead. Taste is important!

Question: Do I have to use those oats?

Answer: Of course not. Just don't use Quick Oats. You can use Ezikel oats, Irish Oats, some other type of oat mixture that suits you best. The oats are just a good start to the day for fiber and carbohydrates.

Question: Aren't most protein powders just fillers? Don't I want to get my protein from whole foods? Oats don't have protein!

Answer: Oats do have protein. You can use any protein powder you want. I can't comment on fillers because without knowing the company or having something tested, you have to go on blind faith and hopes the company is reputable. The point was not to cook so using a protein powder was essential to boost the overall protein of the meal without restoring to cooking. Whey protein is a darn good substitution for adding protein to any meal.

Question: You won't catch the "Pros" eating things like milk and juice! Too much sugars.

Answers: You can eliminate the milk. But this meal was designed for people who are on the go. Jobs. Kids.. If you are a Pro, that's your LIFE. You have time to cook, eat properly all the time. That's what you DO. The rest of us, eating is a luxury and quick meals are a must.
