If remodeling your entire kitchen is not an option, you can redo your kitchen décor and give it a brand new look without turning it into a several week project. A few deft changes in strategic places will not only update the look of your kitchen but will also increase the amount of working space you have.

If space is an issue for you, consider buying appliances that can be mounted on walls or affixed to the bottom of cupboards. You can mount wooden “cabinetry” on your refrigerator to make it blend in with the surroundings.

Countertops

The fastest way to change the look of your kitchen is to install new countertops. If you do not want to tear out your cupboards, make sure you use countertops that match them or are willing to re-stain or paint your cupboards. The latest trends in kitchen counters are natural hardwood or stone or recycled materials made to resemble either one of those.

Flooring

What about your flooring? If the floor you have is in good condition and does not need to be replaced, just throwing down an area rug can brighten up the kitchen. It is amazing how decorating your dinner table can bring new life to your kitchen and make the meal much more enjoyable.
