Quick Tips to Looking Younger!
63
Who says because we are getting older or may be experiencing the change of life, we need to start looking and acting frumpy? I am a practical person, while I enjoy wearing make-up and moisturize my face daily, my routines are not complicated. No spending hours in front of the mirror pampering my skin or putting on my makeup. I keep it simple, so my routines are easy to stick to.
I have found that following common sense routines keeps one's skin in good condition.

- Drink water, and everyday. If you are dehydrated, your face will show it.
- Moisturize your face daily.
- Learn to relax! A stressed out mind, gives a stressed out face, with puffy eyes and all.
- Laugh and smile! Laughter wrinkles are better than frowning ones, so says Violetsun. :)
- Use foundation with sunblocks.
- I swear by Evening Primrose oil; I take two a day. Besides helping with feminine concerns such as helping to balance one's hormones, it keeps the skin young looking from the inside out. Evening Primrose Oil is made from the seeds of the plant. It helps with circulation to the face, and can help improve skin dramatically. It is one of the best sources of GLA, an essential fatty acid which helps maintain a healthy cell structure.
- Walk, its keeps your body healthier and your face will thank you.
- Be silly, a kid at heart. Keeps one young forever.
- Eat fruits and yeah your veggies.
- Do yoga for the face; Yup! There is yoga for the face, and it looks as if one is making clown faces. I admit, I don't do this everyday, as with the previous tips, only when I feel like it, but perhaps some of you are more disciplined.
A little vanity doesn't hurt, even for men. Have fun in taking care of yourself!

Thanks for another fine hub, Violetsun. I agree with you about a sense of humor being vital to staying young. Nothing ages a person like taking life too seriously. I'm ashamed to say though (ok, not that ASHAMED, but embarrassed maybe) that I basically have no beauty routines whatsoever. I throw on a little mascara in the morning, I like to use rich moisturizers on my feet and legs and hands because they get so dry, otherwise, I might as well be a guy. Oops--I forgot! I dye my hair. I do dye my hair. So I guess I'm a girl after all. I always enjoy your hubs. Thanks again.
Nice one, VS--good advice too. Love that face yoga video but am probably to lazy to do the exercises:-) I do drink water and walk though.....I'm just going with mother nature on this one. Getting old doesn't seem so bad when you consider the alternative LOL.
Pgrundy and Robie2: Thanks for your comments and your fun personalities. :) I find the yoga exercises interesting too, but I am too lazy to spend 15 in front of a mirror doing them even if they are kind of fun. LOL!
Ah, now we know Violet's secret and can start guessing her age! :)
I laugh, drink water and am silly and relaxed, but haven't tried creams or lotions. Maybe you should tell us men what to do to look younger.
Thanks, hub is appreciated and I know some people who need these tips.
Hey, good to see you, Kenny. Yup, I am baby boomer going on 5! LOL! I think men are afraid of using facial creams, but what you are doing is also a keep young formula: be relaxed, silly and drink water.:)
I love this hub Violet! you have raised some very good tips in a joyfull way which i think does help and of course i agree on a good sense of humor.
Your advice about "Laughter wrinkles instead of frowning one's"!! that was the nuggot for me which i have taken on board, and infact............. im feeling younger already!D)
Good for you, that you have taken on the laughter wrinkles instead of the frowning ones. LOL!
thanks for the advice, I think I need to put more Oil of Olay.....
Thanks for your comments, and Oil of Olay is good!
Interesting to learn about Evening Primrose Oil for skin benefits (I'd only heard about it for PMS/menstrual issues)! Thanks! You might like my "Vitamin C and Collagen" and "Fruity Tooty Beauty" blogs. Take a look and let me know what you think! Best!
Thanks for your comments! Just peeked at your blogs, and left a comment one one. Very informative hubs.
Evening Primrose Oil is also excellent for cuts and skin (as in a rash) inflamations. One opens a capsule and spread the oil in the area.
Violet : Thumbs up back at you! :
Thank you! :) You write interesting hubs. I am looking forward to more.
Great tips violet sun. :) I do yoga for quite awhile now and yes it does help a lot. But the face yoga is new to me. Hmmm...although we do those exercises unknowingly. hahahah be young at heart, that's the secret to staying young. God bless.
Ripplemaker: Just saw your comments, and hey, its true, I make clown faces a lot, That should be my face "exercise". LOL!

Face yoga is hysterical! What a great find. Love your tips. Fab hub, VioletSun.

Is there a fountain of youth? I think there is, and that is being joyful and having a good sense of humor. What do you guys think?
