Quitting smoking side effects are mainly to do with the body trying to detox itself from all of the harmful chemicals that you have been putting into your body by smoking cigarettes. You always have to bear in mind from the beginning of any attempt at quitting smoking that the benefits for you are going to be fantastic. There is actually no benefits to you if you carry on smoking, none at all, and you are only fooling yourself if you think that there are. Quitting smoking side effects are real, there is no doubt about that, but there is a huge psychological basis behind these side effects which you can overcome them with very little effort on your part. Millions of people have quit the filthy habit and so can you.

When I'm talking about quitting smoking side effects, I can really only express the side effects that I felt when I quit smoking. So this article is based around my own personal experiences in quitting smoking side effects.

Quitting smoking side effects

What are your reasons for quitting smoking? The top reason for anyone quitting smoking is obviously health. When you quit smoking you are drastically reducing the risks of contracting various cancers, heart disease, lung problems, as a matter-of-fact the list of diseases that you can succumb to from smoking is massive. Then there are the miscellaneous side effects such as not stinking like you've been dragged through an ashtray anymore, having whiter teeth, and not having to leave the room and go outside into the cold every time you wanted a quick fix like some street junkie. The side effects of quitting smoking will only last a short space of time, if you get a disease from smoking this is going to last you for your life.

You are doing the right thing in searching for information about the side effects to quitting smoking because forewarned is forearmed, you can prepare yourself for these side effects.

There are two different elements of the side effects to quitting smoking. One is the physical side effects of quitting smoking and the other is the psychological side effects of quitting smoking. These side effects are only going to last for a couple of weeks at the most. So these physical side effects after quitting smoking can be linked in some way to the psychological side effects. By this I mean that you can overcome the physical side effects by using your own psychology and a few simple tricks. The physical side effects that I got were sweating, insomnia, mild shaking, and weight gain. The psychological side effects when quitting smoking involved mood swings. I would go from being depressed at the apparent "loss" that I just suffered, writes open to being deliriously happy, giggling like a little schoolgirl at the slightest thing.

The biggest tip I can give you for handling the side effects when quitting smoking is to try and keep yourself as occupied as possible. If you know the times when you're cigarette craving is at its worst, for me it was after a meal, and then you can deal with it. Another thing that you can do is to join a class in relaxation. Again, I joined a tai chi class which not only gave me something to focus on for two evenings per week, it also gave me the tools to help myself to relax when I was feeling stressed. Quitting smoking side effects are the price that you pay for giving up the filthy habit and giving yourself a better chance to live a healthy and normal life.

To quit smoking suddenly is not an easy job. There may be plenty of side effects. Hypnotism could be extremely effective as it deals with the subconscious mind to remove the impressions of smoking. Nice hub.

There are heaps more side effects than that! Sore thoat, acid reflux .. constricted lungs. Though all are preferable than remaining a smoker.
