I've always admired beautifully crafted Tiffany lamps. Quoizel is synonymous with quality Tiffany style lamps.

Quoizel was founded in 1930 in Manhattan, New York by Michael Chaikin.

The name "Quoizel" comes from a suggestion from a friend and it is in reference to the conjunction of several planets at the time the company was opened.

Quoizel is a privately-held family-owned and operated business that has grown to become one of the leading manufacturer's of fine decorative lighting such as chandeliers, outdoor lighting fixtures, floor and table lamps, island lights, swing arm wall fixtures, under cabinet lighting, and even mirrors.

They pride themselves on avoiding trends and fads and maintaining a collection of products whose function and form are timeless.

Quoizel's Tiffany designs are handcrafted by their own designers or are reproductions of original Louis Comfort Tiffany designs.

Quoizel has recently moved to South Carolina to a 500,000 square foot state of the art building.

Tiffany Lamps

Tiffany lamps are considered part of the Art Nouveau movement. Although they can be made with different types of glass shades, they are most known for a stained lead glass shade.

The first Tiffany lamp was created around 1895.

They are lovely and well made. I didn't know there was that much variety... I'm partial to the arts and crafts style.

My mother-in-law's house is full of Tiffany-style lamps, and I'm sure my wife and I will inherit most of them one day, so I'll just hold off on buying any! :)
