Every kid likes to play with remote control cars. They're fun. They let you pretend you're a grownup. But it's funny that this need sometimes doesn't go away.

What happens is that you can buy rc cars with even bigger engines and batteries, and have fun with truly high performance and serious cars. As the boy grows up, so does the car, so to speak.

Generally, for electric RC models, the more powerful the battery (higher the wattage and volts) the faster the model will go and accelerate. I've seen one car they have to make front heavy, because when it accelerated, it would do it so fast it flipped over backwards.

Wth quality RC models, you can reach dizzying speeds and/or heights.  This makes crashes, when they happen, potentially disasterous.  This would be a big deal with toy grade stuff, because you only paid $20-$30 for it.  But with a quality model, you don't want to spend another $100+ for a replacement.

Luckily, with more quality hobby-grade models, spare parts are available, so you can make repairs cheaply.
