REAL HEALTH CARE SOLUTION 103
WELCOME TO PART 3.
If you have not read Part 1 & 2

I recommend reading them before
continuing on this journey.
Health Care or Obama care
is the topic here.
I have spent some time on the
subject of cigarette smoking.
Next on the agenda is my plan to increase the number of
medical professionals, Doctors, Nurses, Therapists, etc.
The fact is a lot of Doctors and Medical professionals have been driven
away due to Lawyers and malpractice suits. That is a subject we will
address in some future part of my Health Care Solution blog.
DO WE NEED MORE DOCTORS?
Well now, let's see what our President thinks about that
(April 2009)
Obama administration officials, alarmed at doctor shortages, are looking
for ways to increase the supply of physicians to meet the needs of an
aging population and millions of uninsured people who would gain coverage
under legislation championed by the president.
The officials said they were particularly concerned about shortages of primary
care providers who are the main source of health care for most Americans.
Hey, put a mark on the calendar, I agree with them!
The problem Politicians have is they are short sighted and
can't see beyond the next election.
I have mentioned that My Health Care Solution will take as much
as 20 years before the full benefit of it will be apparent.
I am 77 and I don't have to worry about 20 years from now.
Politicians are only interested in solutions they can take credit
for and get them re-elected in the next couple years.
The snippet above says the Obama administration is looking for
ways to increase the supply of physicians.
I am about to lay out my plan which will take at least
10 years to either succeed or fail.
I mentioned in my "101" that I will lay out a step by step solution to
many of the problems we face today in our Health Care System.
OK, LET'S GET STEPPING!
I don't want to hear any laughing or moaning, but we need to create an
interest in Medical Professional careers at an early age.
Maybe we don't give our young people enough credit but if given the
opportunity at a young age, say 15-16 years old, I believe we could recruit
them and offer them a career opportunity as medical professionals.
I know they are at an age when most of them just want
to have fun, but maybe that is because no one has given them any
reason to do something more productive with their young lives.
I am not suggesting that a 16 year old is qualified for
Brain Surgery or even as Primary Care Physician.
Step one of my plan is to let ALL students in every High School know
that if they want to take part in the American Dream,
all they need to do is work hard in High School.
This means good attendance, good study habits, good behavior,
clean living and of course good grades.
I think by the second year of High School we should have a
good idea of which students have possibilities.
By year three of High School, those who want to pursue
a Medical Professional Career, and meet the high standards, will be
offered a pre med opportunity. It should be a High School credited course
detailing Medical Professional opportunities, from Primary Care Physicians
to Ambulatory Emergency care.
I suspect most of them would prefer a career as Doctor or Nurse and that's
not bad, but we do need a supporting cast.
This High School 3rd year Pre Med would require students to spend
some weekend time volunteering to help out at local Hospitals, Clinics,
Care Centers. These jobs would not require any blood and guts surgery
type positions, just helping out with basic services like serving food,
assisting patients, and cleaning.
After about one semester of the Pre Med, they will have the opportunity
to drop out of the program or continue on with more specific medical basics.
At this point I want to deal with your obvious question of who is going
to teach all these potential Medical Professionals.
I bet you know where I am going.
I did mention that these students must be intelligent, self motivated
disciplined with good study habits..
Most of their Medical training will be dependent on those qualities
since most of the training will be doing exactly what you are doing now.
YES, online courses!
There will be intervals when students will get on site training and testing
during their High School years.
Upon completion of High School, those who still want to continue will be
offered the Opportunity of a college level Medical School, again online.
They will need to make a decision about the specific field of Medical Care
they want to enter.
Some may think being a Doctor (Primary Physician) is where they want
to go, until they discover that it could take up to 8 more years of
school and volunteer service to earn a Primary Care Physician license.
Most other Medical Professional certificates can be earned in half that time.
The College level online courses will at times be live lectures where students
participate interactively asking questions.
Students may also have the opportunity to participate in live classes (online)
that could be broadcast from Medical facilities and/or Medical Schools.
I am no expert, but I would guess about 90 percent of all the training
for Medical Professionals, could be done ONLINE. Most of the remaining
education could be as on the job training, under the guidance of trained
professionals at a hospital or clinic.
There are some things you cannot do online, such as draw blood,
give shots, dress cuts, bruises, etc.
DID I MENTION THE COST OF THIS TO THE STUDENT? 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
THAT MEANS FREE.
Well almost free, since the student will be expected to
volunteer and work at a Hospital or Medical Clinic while
in the training progam, and for a specific time after he/she
earns a Medical Professional License.
When the student is ready for more advance personal care jobs
he/she will be given hands on training during a college level live class
at the medical location where he/she works regularly as a volunteer.
When the student goes as far as possible (graduates),
and becomes a licensed practitioner, they will be expected
to do volunteer work for a specific number of hours over a
specific period of time unless they have the financial
resources and prefer to pay a predetermined amount for
their Medical Schooling.
I believe there are many brilliant young people sitting at
the take out windows of fast food restaurants, wasting away.
If they knew when they entered High School that all students
begin with a clean slate and it was up to each and every one
of them to prove they deserved a shot at a career as a
medical professional, it might inspire some to excel.
I am not into social engineering and I can't help those who
have a chip on their shoulder, having been brainwashed by
parents and family that they can't succeed because of whatever..
If that is what they think of themselves there will always be the
takeout window under the Golden Arches.
We have millions of students going though our High School
system every year. If only one percent of them qualify and
complete the pre med, this program will be a success.
There will always be a place for those who have the financial
resources to take the old fashioned system to a career in
health care. Some of the graduates of my online school
may want to continue their education and they will be
encouraged to go to a Med School at their own expense.
So, what do you think?
Maybe some doctor or medical professional has some comments
about why this can or can't work.
I am not suggesting we can train Brain Surgeons or Cardiologist in this manner.
What we need now are more Primary Care Physicians
and Medical Professionals.
In the beginning of this page, I said
Well now, let's see what our President thinks about that (April 2009)

or ways to increase the supply of physicians to meet the needs of an aging
population and millions of uninsured people who would gain coverage under

The officials said they were particularly concerned about shortages of primary
care providers who are the main source of health care for most Americans.
I said politicians are short sighted and I doubt if any of them has the
guts to present this basic idea as a possible solution to the
administrations concern announced last April.
Would they want to risk it.
First of all it will be years before anyone could evaluate the succsess
or failure of this program.
Heaven forbid, if the benefits of this idea became apparent when
another political party is in Power.
As long as we have so many arrogant jerks in power, the only thing
they can be concerned about is
'WHO GETS CREDIT' (POLITICALLY THAT IS)!
HEY YOU STUPID IDIOTS,
JUST GET THE JOB DONE AND GET IT RIGHT,
OR YOU CAN KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ALWAYS DO, NOTHING, UNTIL
THEY BOX AND BURY YOUR ARROGANT BONES NEXT TO ONE INCH STONE
THAT LISTS YOUR MAIN ACHIEVEMENT AND YOUR CLAIM TO FAME,
'NOBODY ELSE GOT CREDIT', WOW!
I am just getting warmed up, more to come in Real Health Care Solutions 104
I am but one greatAmerican among a sea of Great Americans.
Thanks to all my fans and readers.
If you think it could work and has some merit,
forward it to your congressman, senator and also
friends and family.

If I can give my honest opinion, while this sounds good in theory, I doubts many students would actually go for this. Times have changed and kids in this generation are very spoilled, maybe one or two. I just can't see it working.
