Recycling Tips for your Home
Recycling is a great way to give back to the community. A recycling bin is the best way to remember. If you are looking at getting involved in recycling in your community there are a few things to consider and set up. The first is to make sure that recycling is done in your area. You can do this by checking out your local recycling center or local organization that is in charge of recycling. They will let you know if they do recycling pick up. If they do you next step is to ask for recycling bins. Usually if pick up is an option these are usually available free of charge. If not check to see what type of recycling containers are available for sale or what size bins you can use. One web site with a great selection is RecyclingSupply.com.
If you have to take your recycling to a center then it is a good idea to have an indoor system or sorting and organizing your recycling. You can use a regular sized trash can for both plastic and aluminum and then a flat storage bin for papers. This makes it easy to gather everything on the days you are heading to the recycling center and adding bags to the plastic and aluminum bins makes it even easier.
If you have pick up you can have three bins set aside for each. Or simply use an aluminum can crusher for your aluminum cans and plastic bottles if you prefer only two bins. Make sure that crushing cans and bottles is acceptable prior to doing this. There are some companies and recycling centers that will not accept bottles and cans that have been crushed.
Make recycling fun, do not just consider the normal items like soda bottles, aluminum cans and newspaper as recycling but consider everything else you have around your home that you could possible recycle. There are hundred of items in your home that you might not even be aware of that can be recycled either through a recycling center or by giving them another use in your home. Fact: 70% of everything that is placed in our landfills can be recycled.
For example use a tall laundry basket with broken ventilation holes as an outdoor storage for sports toys such as bats, hockey sticks or even larger outdoor gardening tools. Smaller wastebaskets can be refinished with relative ease and used for things like umbrellas or canes. Reuse printer paper. If it is material you no longer need, see if white paper is recycled by your recycling center, some places only do newspapers, or let your younger children doodle and draw on the back. Or cut these pages up, place glue on one edge to glue the pages together and make a note pad from the backs.
Recycling items like padded envelopes and boxes that are not excessively damaged by simply reapplying tape to the boxes and carefully removing labels. If it is impossible to remove labels mark them out with a marker or simply use one of the printing programs to print your postage then just tape it over top the original label.
Grocery store plastic bags can also be recycled. Either for use as small transport bags for things like school lunches or gym clothing. They can also be used as trash bags for smaller wastebaskets.

- THANKS FOR THE RECYCLING CONTAINER MEMORIES.
My son Chuck and I are fast approaching our first year in the Recycling container business. When we began this journey we got to know the movers and shakers in the Recycling bin business. One such man is George Slagle who has been doing this business for almost 20 years. I am grateful for many things George has taught and shared with us. One of the things I vividly remember him telling us was that the customers who are conscientious enough to buy recycling containers are a cut above most people in the business world. He told us that doing business with these folks was a pleasure. Well he was spot on. We began this venture with a mission statement that included dealing only in products that added value to peoples lives and as a consequence makes the world a better place. You see, I include my granddaughters picture on our site as a constant reminder that we are in the business of improving the future. I want to thank each and every one of our customers for being so forward looking and for trusting Chuck and I to fill your recycling container needs. NEIL
- RECYCLE-REUSE-REDUCE
As usual there is good news and bad news about our world and planet at this time of post election impending changes. I wish I had the wisdom to know the difference but I can't even come close. A few things I do know are that the use of your recycling bins and recycling containers becomes even more important now than ever before. We know there is something going on with our environment. We know that it takes a great toll on the environment to produce STUFF and just discard it. We know that the disposal of electronics is tremendously hazardous to the ground water. Let it suffice to say that we know enough to argue that the most immediate action we can take with the greatest effect is to Recycle, Reuse and Reduce. We here at RecyclingSupply.com try to provide the best reminders to you and your customers to take care of our future. Thanks for being concerned enough to visit our site.
