THERE WAS LOT MORE TO KIM THAN JUST BEING DANNY'S LIVE IN GIRLFRIEND!!!
Remember that beauty called KIM and please don't insult her by confusing her with KIMI KATKAR(now Shorey). It is indeed terribly sad that in spite of the number of years she was in Bollywood in the early 70's thru the mid 80's her only claim to fame in retrospective is her being Danny Danzongpa's live in girlfriend after Parveen Babi had dumped him. Many do correctly feel that Danny took Kim as his girlgriend and live in partner not only because she was a ravishing beauty and an eye candy but also a spitting image of Parveen Babi.
But apart from being the live-in girfriend of Dan Dan there was a lot more to her as an actress and a ravishing Bollywood beauty. There is no denying the fact that Danny did go out of his way to promote Kim but that apart she had an identity of her own that made her stand apart in Bollywood.
How can anyone possibly forget the stunner called Kim when she matched steps with Mithun Chakraborty in Disco Dancer or played Rajesh Khanna's heroine in her maiden film 'Phir Wohi Raat or gave Kalpana Iyer a run for her money in Disco Dancer and made Mandakini restless when she played the second lead in Commando or found her space between Raaj Kumar and Danny in Bulandi?
How many of you would even be aware that Kim actually played Rishi Kappor's heroine in Manmohan Desai's block buster-Naseeb?
Today it is rather sad on how people fade into oblivion and are erased from public memory. Do a google or yahoo seach on Kim and 99.9% of the search results will lead you to Kim Sharma or all those Korean Kims.You'd be really lucky if some rare search show's you the way to this ravishing beauty who was a perfect 10 back then in the early 70's. Sad how time changes so cruelly. Wonder where KIM is these days and what she is doing in oblivion...Hope she reads this and it brings a fond smile on her face that someone still remembers her and actually misses her presence in Bollywood!!!

The news of Kim's death was flashed on you tube by a senseless fan who did not even know the difference between Kim and Kimi(Katkar) and left a message on one of her videos.
As far as I can tell it is nothing but a senseless n crude rumour as there is no reliable source to confirm the same or even deny the rumour.I did an extensive search on the net to find some of her juicy quotes or some interviews of hers but cud not find anything what-so ever because I just cud not get beyond Kim Sharma in Bollywood or all those Kim's from North & South Korea when I did a Google & Yahoo search.
Till the news can be confirmed by a reliable source, I'd like to believe that Kim is very much alive and also hale & hearty leading a simple low profile life far beyond Bollywood.

Interesting what an idle trawl of the net throws up - what made me think of Kim ? - well, possibly the same curiosity which led to this site.
I actually met Kim in the mid 80s' - she was a close friend of a young lady who had been working for my fathers airfreight co', and she introduced me to her in (then) Bombay when I was on a trip there & we sort of hung out, meeting people like the late Jalal Agha - later, back in London, she dropped by at my home with her friend and by sheer coincidence a video was playing of a film which she was in ! - yes entirely true :)
I dropped by at her house in Hounslow, West london, not far from where I live and she seemed very ordinary, down to earth and not at all actressy, and of course, very attractive.
She's actually half Welsh, on her mothers side, which might go a long way to explaining her not particularly Bollywood look.

I met Kim several times in Mumbai when her career was still fairly decent during the Commando phase and later when she was living in with Aditya with little or no work.But all said and done she was a warm polite and well mannered girl who went out of her way to make even strangers feel at ease in her company...
Luck just ran out on her or her being labeled as Danny girl at the beginning of her career is what mucked up her career.

The video playing at the time she dropped by was "Maha Shakthimaan" - which was release the same year - 1985.
It was quite funny seeing her jaw drop when she saw a shot of herself on our TV :) (actually I was just as shocked / surprised) - and I can assure you it was entirely coincidental (unless my mother knew she was dropping by...) - yes, she was pretty cool (& took it coolly, considering) and seemed very polite and well bought up, and as I said, very un-actressy.
I think she mentioned an interest in getting a role in some more Western oriented films, but the only stuff I was working on at the time were pop videos in London, and when I got back to the UK, I sort of lost touch with those few contacts I had in "Bollywood" - although I still watch and enjoy the odd one or two.
Would be good to know if & what Kim is up to these days.

I could find Kim only by juggling words on google, at last with the words " Kim Sharma Disco Dancer ". Thanks for u'r info. Her facial & figure not the usual in Bollywood at those time's.
