RENEWED FAITH IN THE MEDIA
63FOX WINS BY DOING NOTHING!
My faith has been restored in the American media, on October 22, 2009. It is not difficult to admit that the Obama administration isn’t in love with the FOX NEWS CHANNEL. The President himself frequently talks about FOX or that cable news station, code name for FOX. It seems our President never has anything nice to say about them. This past weekend President Obama called out the attack dogs, Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod. They were seen on many television stations saying the same things; sometimes they used the same words or synonyms. Their goal was to discredit the FOX station, the only media outlet that has the GUTS to challenge our President.
MY OPINION
Since the primaries began all news outlets treated then Senator Obama differently. There may have been different reasons for this unnatural occurrence. It may have been because he was the best speaker of the lot, he excited the crowd the most and the press went along, he was the first African-American that had a chance to win or ……… I don’t know. Anyone old enough to have seen Presidential campaigns before has never seen anything like this. Therefore I lost respect for the media, no mater what kind of media they were.
The only member of the media that tried to ask tough questions to Senator eventually President Obama was FOX NEWS, this made me respect them. They backed up their accusations with what many called lies and distortions; there was a problem with that. If you are seen on you tube spewing words directly from your month, well that’s kind of incriminating. What did I do, hide my head in the sand? Not my style! I prayed to G-D to save our country, and I still managed to have some faith in the American journalist.
NEW FOUND RESPECT
On the evening of October 21, 2009 a reporter (surprisingly not from FOX) asked our President; why he and his staff did not consider FOX a real news network. The President seemed to be taken back by the unexpected question. He gave a slight laugh, smiled and intoned; I don’t pay much attention to them, let’s talk about something more important.
My respect had been brought back for a moment, but the reporter let the subject at hand die, what happened the next day truly restored my faith in journalism.
THE MEETING
Wanting to cover their apparent gaffe, the White House called four networks ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC to come over for a meeting. The four Networks had a meeting of their own and came to a decision. They would NOT meet at the White House if FOX was to be excluded. This was the first time these networks banded together in the defense of FOX, which is seen by the White House as its enemy.
In the end all five networks (including FOX) were allowed to conduct their interviews, with permission handed down by Anita Dunn.
THE FOX INTERVIEWER
The reporter doing the interview for FOX NEWS, Major Garrett answered a question. Has any Station ever been excluded on purpose before? Garrett replied; “Not to my knowledge.” At least FOX was able to have its representative at the party. I and many others were elated by the conviction of ABC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC. The Obama White House was not able to dictate to these media outlets how they had to operate. Hopefully they will learn to obey the law.
TRANSPARENCY
One of the biggest promises President Obama made was; “This administration will be the most transparent our country has have ever had.” In politics it is very difficult to keep your promises but this was plain childish.
FUTURE
Watch your back! This administration always says one thing to catch your interest, while something bigger is done behind the scene. Did the FOX story not capture your interest, while health care, Afghanistan and other issues slipped to the back of your mind? Who knows what else the administration is working on? They have to get done all they can done all they can before the 2010 election, change will once again be the big issue.
WILL THE OTHER MEDIA NOW CHANGE?
I don’t think they will change all their stripes; they made this statement when it concerned the media specifically. When this issue fades, so will their actions. Unless they have been stung by the intelligence bee. After all; After FOX, who?

Great hub, but I'm nor breaking out the champagne any time soon. My view quite simply is that what the other networks finally realized is that they were very close to having the White House turn on them if they crossed the "line".

We'll wait and see, but they do pick-up what FOX shows more than before.

It is nice to see this first step. I am not holding my breath though. It will take a much more concerted effort to revitalize journalism before I change my views. I will be keeping an eye on it to see where it goes from here.
Is BO's plan back firing, are is this a distraction for the health bill?

I am with you on this one Harvey ! Obama can no longer hide and Is being held to the same standards all other Presidents have been held too . And should be !
Obama just needs to go away. There is no new Camelot in DC.

The news orgs joined together to help fox for one reason alone - it could be them next and they needed to solidify their power base. NO president is going to destroy them, as far as they're concerned.
As far as why they banded together behind Obama? They were told to. And I'll add another twist to that one - those powers that had them do it are sexist. Hillary ran on the EXACT same platform - but she's female - and smart. Obama is actually quite stupid.

You are very correct that they are affraid of being next, but NBC is in Obama's pocket. G.E. is positioned to get billions for "GREEN ENERGY."
I don't know a thing about the sexist angle, you're welcome to educate me. I NEVER want either of them to lead, but I have to accept over three more years. No chance on a second term.

God Bless your article, some important stuff to acknowledge, and for the record, Obama wouldn't have won the election had it not been for the LIBERAL media outlets such as CNN and ABC.
