Hi friends, there is one reason for which I'm writing this article. My one friend working in a software company and he is working on Linux platform. actually he tell me how RHCE will help me for a good carrier and what is the market value of the same. So I had to decided to write this hub for to tell the importance of RHCE and Linux to the others also.

What is RHCE?

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is a performance-based test that measures actual competency on live systems. Called the "crown jewel of Linux certifications," RHCE proves an individual's ability to configure networking services and security on servers running a Red Hat OS.

The RHCE Exam

Becoming a Red Hat Certified Engineer requires passing a five-and-a-half-hour hands-on exam. There are four different approaches to preparing for the exam depending on your existing level of Linux expertise.

Changes in RHCE Exam

Effective May 1, 2009, the format of the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam will change. Relax: it will remain 100 percent performance-based exams that test people’s ability to do things, rather than their ability to memorize multiple choice questions and answers. The most visible changes concern testing time. The RHCE exam, formerly two sections of 2.5 and 3.0 hours, becomes a single-section exam lasting 3.5 hours.
