RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF GOD

It is important that the Word of God needs explanation and understanding. The Bible is not written in a Greek systematic style but in a mosaic fashion. The organization of Bible is not chronological and a person needs time to understand and get wisdom about it. Spending time with the Word of God will bring an additional benefit by hearing and speaking it thus producing faith. Hearing the Word on tapes and CDs helped me significantly since it is very natural for man to listen. The first members of the early Church did not have a Bible in book form or any form. All that was available was hearing the Word. Since they shared it they were speaking the Word. This magnified their faith.

If one abides in the Word He will know the truth. Knowing is the revelation of it. The Holy Spirit reveals it to us. What we then know will set us free (John 8:31-32). That revelation must match the entire Word of God. The Holy Spirit will never contradict the rest of the scripture.

We often hear people say “I do not like my counselor. He (she) just wants to run my life.” The rejection produces rebellion and not faith.

The best thing to do is consult the Word.

We have to understand that the Spirit of God inspires the Word of God. Original Book (The Bible) is the one and is correct. People who learned languages from the books, since Hebrew and ancient Greek were not living languages, available for translators, made the translation. More translations came better understanding, which is available to us.

The Word of God is never changing. God never changes as well. God guarded His Word from alterations. Few mistakes occurred in different places such as misspellings. The rewriters of Scripture were professionals and were under an oath and were concerned about trespass the order of God by losing eternity. They would rather die than change the scriptures. We have to be thankful to the Pharisees who preserved the scripture, even many who rejected Jesus. If they will believe in Him as a Messiah they would rather die then to let anyone kill the Messiah. But they had a veil over their faces. Jesus must die no matter who the executor was. Jesus forgave them.

Many memorized the entire scripture in case of loss or damage.

The validity of the Word in recent decades has been confirmed by Bible codes. They would not work if the Word of God were altered. In the Dead Sea Scrolls there were found identical copies of the book of Isaiah and the gospel of Luke.

The Word of God never changes. Covenants are changing. We have 16 covenants. The last is the New Covenant.

We learn from the Old Covenant and live in the New.

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

The same is quoting Hebrews 8:8.

Hebrews 8:13 In that he says, a new covenant, he has made the first old. Now that which decayeth [is becoming obsolete] and waxeth [growing] old is ready to vanish away.

Jesus was in the ministry under the Old Covenant and He must to fulfill it for Himself and for us. We have to keep in mind that when Jesus made some statements, He addressed the Jews that He lived among.

He finished it (the old covenant) when He said on the cross: “It is finished!”

After His resurrection the New Covenant was established. He was the firstborn and after Him many others. He and we have to be born again from our sin. He had to be born from our sin that He took on Himself.

We have to know that after He was raised from the dead He spoke only things pertaining to His kingdom.

Then He sent us the Holy Spirit to lead us and to convince the world of the sin of unbelief.

His kingdom stays on the two main pillars and it is faith and love. By illustration faith is the root and love is the tree. The rest is the fruit and seed of it.

The final scripture is here:

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Without dividing the Word of truth many mistakes may occur.

James said: If one needs the wisdom asks God. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally.

He will never deny it if we diligently seek Him.

I love the point about hearing the Word spoken. For a long time it was passed by mouth, and you helped me to realize that hearing it spoken is very important and that God designed us to receive it this way as well, and it is probably better. I am a written word lover and I am grateful we have it in book form. Great hub!

Alexander I appreciate your comment. My motto would be: I would like if letters have sounds.

But I am glad we have the Word in the Bible.

Judah's Daughter, thank you very much for visit and comment.

Great Hub, Vladimir. The Bible was written to be spoken aloud and every morning when I read my Bible I do just that: I read it out loud. Thanks for the article. You hit the bulls eye dead center.

I am glad you are visiting, my friend and brother James. Your comments are very good and appropriate. Thanks. Now I am speaking Word loud what is blessing and positive and reading silently what I do not have benefit from. The spoken words are the seed!
