R.I.P. Seattle Sonics
57Sonics pack up and leave town
Today is a sad day in the history of professional sports in Seattle. The formerly Seattle now the OKC Sonics or Whatever are officially leaving town as of July 3rd. Clay Bennett and the PBC (Professional Basketball Club) have erased 41 years of professional basketball with one final and worst season in the history of the franchise, 20-62. They never intended to keep the club in Seattle, this was a theft of the worst kind. The people of Seattle have supported this club for 4 decades and some oil millionaire comes to town and takes it all away. Many families spend hundreds and thousands of dollars to see this team and they made memories and had experiences that will last a lifetime and that's something the PBC can never buy and move away. Sadly the state of professional sports have come down to this, "you build us a glorious place to play ball and pay for it with taxpayers money (corporate welfare) or we will find someone who will and we are gone". There is no loyalty. The only that sports franchises are loyal to is money. This is a travesty! It is sad that my sons will never see a Seattle Sonics basketball game. I can't put a dollar sign on that loss. Sorry NBA, I will no longer support your product as you stood idly by let this group erase Seattle history. That means I will not watch any games, buy jerseys or anything else, I will not visit your website or have anything to do with your league.
It's been fun....
