Rachael Ray Cookware
62Rachael Ray cookware
I’ve recently had the pleasure of using some Rachael ray cookware after spending the past two weeks at my aunt’s house. She’s always been an exceptional cook but I honestly had my doubts about any cookware that seemed to be a blatant attempt at making a quick buck from marketing than quality cookware. However, I was quite surprised at the end of my two week visit because I had thoroughly enjoyed the cookware, enough so that I decided to share my experience.
Rachael ray cookware is manufactured by the Meyer Corporation. Right off the bat this should be sending some feeling of confidence through your head considering that meyer is known for its high quality products. This is probably the point at which I became open to the idea that Rachael ray cookware might have some potential.
The cookware is also sold in an interesting manner because it’s not simply sold as sets. There is of course the option to buy an entire set but you can also opt to buy individual pieces. Many cookware companies tend to offer certain cookware pieces ONLY through a set. As an added bonus, the Rachael ray cookware sets tend to be a significant discount from buying each piece by itself.
Now, on to some actual personal experience. First of all, the pieces were all very light weight. Not cheap mind you, just lightweight. The frying pan I was using was easy to manipulate which is all-important when I’m making my morning eggs. The heat distribution was exceptional. I did not notice any hot spots or cold spots. This is perhaps because it is made of hard-anodized aluminum. Many of the pieces are also coated in a non-stick coating. The handles are a silicone piece providing for some relief from the heat as well as a suitable grip when the pan is loaded down with food
The actual cooking experience I had with the Rachael ray cookware was on par with some of the more expensive brands I’ve had the pleasure of using. I personally own an entire set of all-clad cookware. I was just as pleased with the Rachael ray cookware as I am with my own all-clad set. This was actually a bit disappointing since the Rachael ray pieces are far less expensive. One thing to consider is that the non-stick coating makes it essential to take excellent care of the cookware. Dishwashers can ruin the coatings and silverware can of course scrape the coating making it more of a hindrance than a benefit.
In all I was very satisfied with the Rachael ray cookware and considering it’s price would probably recommend it to anyone.
