Do you think it is fair that a famous fashion designer should fire a fantastic model who has a height of 5 feet 10 and weighs a mere 120 pounds because he thinks that she is not thin enough and doesn't fit into his clothes properly?
I think it's quite outragious and on top of it all, this model, Fillipa Hamilton had to suffer having her latest photo shots digitally altered so that she was made to look like an almost alien being from outer space with a head that was bigger than her hips.
I thought that designers had already been told off about this fetish of theirs for only using anorexic models? This is all so bad and such a dangerous influence on the young girls of today. How can we exect our daughters to feel good about their normal sized and shaped bodies when all they are shown in the fashion world are these ultra thin models?
It is not normal for a woman to be that thin and if she is THAT thin then she needs to arrange for an appointment to visit her doctor as being so thin is going to affect her physically quite badly. She might stop having her periods, her defences are going to be low and she will lay herself open to catching all sorts of germs or diseases as her natural defences are going to be at their lowest.
Young girls seeing these boney women get brain washed into thinking that that is how they have to be and start not eating in order to try and keep up with fashion, and it is precisely because of this reason that the designers were told NOT to use ultra thin models any more. The cases of anorexia over the last 3 decades have risen alarmingly and it is all due to the influence of the cat walk.
Maybe the designers think that clothes hang better on an ultra thin woman but why don-t they try designing clothes that also hang well on a fuller woman.
There was a survey done lately amongst men about what type of woman they preferred and the fuller woman won hands down so I hope that all the young girls out there heard about this as well and that this was able to make them change their minds about how thin they wanted to be.
Women can look really stunning without being ultra thin and there are so many actresses out there to prove it like Scarlet Johanssen, Eva Mendes, Salma Hayek, Catherine Zeta Jones, Beyonce, Shakira, etc and etc. And the extra beauty about these women is that they look healthy. They are curvy, yes, but they have nice curves, they have a good skin colour, rosey cheeks and they look as if they are in very good health which is something that the ultra thin models do not, in fact you they give you the impression that they are just short of needing to be admitted into hospital for a blood transfusion.
Fashion has always been known to return. The mini dress or skirt that came out with Twiggy way back in the late sixties has been seen to re-appear again during more than one season and so in just the same as the mini returned it will soon return, if it hasn-t already returned, the fashion of women like Marilyn Munroe, Jane Russel and Ava Gardener and when that happens the designers will have to for sure change their way of thinking.
