Ramen as a Real Meal

Ramen as a Staple Food
We have enjoyed the information and the recipes in the Hub, Ramen Noodle Miracles. One of the things we have seen is that ramen is a staple food in many Asian countries and became a snack food or a college quick meal in the United States. With a little ingenuity and a few ingredients we may already have at home in the kitchen, we can make a full meal with ramen noodles as a base.
The following recipes are all dishes that my friends and I have tried and many of us have enjoyed them. We hope that you do as well.
As an interesting aside, the young son of one of my friends entered a food drive contest to help the local food banks. A prize was awarded, based on number of individual food items were collected. The child and his dad collected ramen noodle packs from everyone they knew and won the contest!

Hi Patty - I loved ramen noodles when I was younger, but became concerned with the high sodium in the flavor packets. Any thought as to the sodium content in your recipes? Is the sodium diluted by adding the additional ingredients?
I would love to use them again - they are such a great buy!
I really like ramen noodles-- and they cook so quickly. I am a little reluctant to use them though now, because they have have so many questionable ingredients like preservatives, palm oil, cottonseed oil (which can be sprayed with lots of chemicals because "cotton is not a food") I definately toss out the seasoning packets with the MSG and hydroginated ingredients.
I really wish there was something else that could be subsitituted-- ,maybe some other Asian style noodles-- but I haven't looked at their ingredient lists.
For the most part, your recipes sound really tasty .
If you don't eat the flavoring packets very often, there may not be a major cause for concern, unless you are allergic. But I use only about half a packet anyway. You can always toss the packet and use your own seasons as well. Cottonseed oil does begin to sound sound dangerous, though.
Yuo can get ramen noodles without seasonings, in a bag about 2-4 times the size of one pre-packaged block - at the Asian markets.
I appreciate everyone's visits here - Thanks!
Wow, I never would have thought of trying to make a dessert with ramen noodles, that sounds awesome!
Yum! these are the perfect meals for me, i love noodles and can't wait to try out the recipes!
Thanks!
These recipes sound great. These would really add some quality to the plain old Ramen noodles.
And the single serving sizes are great for using leftover items and small of amounts of vegetables and other things at home!
