Ramya alias Divya Spandana
Birth and Childhood
Ramya was born in Bangalore, Karnataka State on 29 November 1981. She studied at St. Hilda's school in Ooty (Tamil Nadu). She then earned her collegiate at St. Joseph's College of Commerce, Bangalore.
Ramya participated in stage shows and dance rehearsals from her grade school days. Ramya is busty, her body structure is well suitable for glamour roles.
Starting from 2003, with a little experience by acting in Kannada movies, she stepped into kollywood (tamil cine field) with tamil movie KUTHU starring against Silambarasan(Simbu), the guy who calls himself as Little Superstar!! That was the reason for her being called in media as 'Kuthu' Ramya which she hates like hell.

However her breakthrough came through her Tamil film Polladhavan (2007 film) where she acted against Dhanush who is the son-in-law of tamil Superstar Rajini.
The film was considered a dark horse success , being released during the Deepavali period. Even Superstar Rajinikanth was all praises for the entire crew of Polladhavan.
Her 2008 release, the tamil movie 'Thoondil' once again proved her suitability for glamourous roles even though she doesn't like to be a glamour doll. Ramya says she likes performance oriented characters.
From the same movie her scenes with hero Sham in which she makes romance with wet clothes was highly criticised. Especially, her wet boobs made drooling audience go crazy to expect more from her.
It is known she is now busy shooting for Gautham Menon's "Varanam Aayiram" opposite Surya and has changed her screen name to Divya which is believed to have brought her more luck in getting hi-fling roles.
