The Range Rover is a luxury/off-road vehicle made by Land Rover in the UK. It was first introduced in the 1970s and are still being made today.

Range Rover, First Generation

The first generation of the Range Rover was called the Range Rover Classic. It lasted from 1970 to 1995. The only significant change came in 1981 where they upgraded the seating from 2 door to 4 door.

Range Rover, Second Generation

The second generation was like the first version of the Range Rover, but with a Rover V8 engine. Some other additions were the anti-lock braking system and the two-wheel traction control. In 1999, the Range Rover got a new Bosch engine from BMW. Some limited additions of the second generation include the Holland and Holland edition, the Range Rover Bordeaux, the Range Rover Westminster, the Range Rover Borrego, the Range Rover Vitesse, and the Range Rover Rhino.

Range Rover, Third Generation

By 2000, Rover had been sold to Ford. In 2002, Range Rover came out with the third generation. The engine is a 3.6 L Turbodiesel V8 with a 6 speed automatic transmission. The third generation is still active today.

To celebrate the 20 years in America, Land Rover produced the 20th Anniversary Edition Range Rover. There were only 40 made. This special edition is supercharged, pearl white with "diamond" split spoke rims, and a two-tone inside.

A watch company named Kobold produced a special clock for the Range Rover. It was then turned into a watch. Kobold has also struck deals with Land Rover for Land Rover watches.

Luxury

Whats so luxurious about the Range Rover? Well, such features as a tri-zone air conditioning, power tilt steering wheel, steering wheel with radio, memory, and cruise controls, leather, lots of it, 12 way power driver seats, 10 way passenger, sun roof, sound system, 6 disc CD, GPS, rearview camera, wireless cell phone link, and garage door opener. Some upgrades are MORE leather and a DVD system.

Other RR/LR Vehicles

Some othere Range Rover vehicles include Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Stormer, and the RSOV. Some other Land Rover vehicles include the Land Rover 101 Forward Control, Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Freelander, Land Rover Llama, Land Rover 3, Land Rover LRX, Land Rover Perentie, and the Land Rover Series.
