Something tells me that a great boom of UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computers) is coming. After all, who wouldn't want to check their email or surf the web from anywhere? That is, anywhere you can get cell phone coverage. But even if you don't have any Wi-Fi signal, you can still do man things off-line like on your laptop or desktop. Why not have the power to take that with you?

It is only a matter of time before one particular UMPC leads the charge for what will soon be skyrocketing sales. That product could be Raon's new Everun, so named for its long battery life. It can go for about 7 hours on a standard battery and up to 12 hours on an enhanced battery.

Raon entered the market a few years ago with the Vega a UMPC with 4.3 inch screen. However, the Vega did not have a QWERTY keyboard, and limited with its buttons. It also didn't have Bluetooth, but it was good for those who liked online games. The Vega was only able to go up to five hours or real-world time.

You may have noticed that the Raon Everun has not one, but two keyboards. The first is the QWERTY keyboard, while the other is a function keys. The keys are place at an angle, so they can be read from whatever direction the user wants. This comes in handy, considering the 4.8 inch wide aspect touchscreen can be read from portrait and landscape with a simple rotation.

So what else can Raon's Everun do? Quite a bit. It has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0, and also has integrated HSDPA or WiBro. It also has a low voltage AMD LX900 600mhz processor, and has 512MB memory (1GB RAM). It can be purchased with 6 GB SSD, 60 GB Standard HDD, or both. This means that you can run Windows XP Home and Office applications, so you can surf the net and check your email just fine from anywhere.

Right now, it is only available at Dynamism, and the planned price is under $900. Hopefully, it will be a little over $600, which is almost one-half the price of the Vega. You are going to have to sign up now to reserve your place on the queue for http://www.dynamism.com/, but you will get their unlimited toll-free support and Dynamism Rescue Warranty.

I'm not kidding on the whole UMPC boom. I wonder who is going to be the iPod of the UMPCs. Maybe it will be the iPhone.
