Secret Tip For Selling Your Property

Having been a real estate investor (mostly buying) properties, but also dealing with hundreds of real estate agents, I recently picked up a great tip (secret) from a local real estate agent who sold two properties REALLY QUICKLY during the start of the real estate “POP.”

I only learned of this tip because we recently entered the “wide format” business (signs, banners, etc.)  But having been involved in real estate for a long time, I was floored that I never saw this before.

So here’s my million dollar tip (until it catches on with real estate agents everywhere..)

Instead of posting the normal yard signs advertising your real estate for sale or rent,

USE A BANNER to promote your property’s sale or rent!

Now before you discount this idea, I wish to back it up by saying that I know a local real estate agent (the only one who has done this in my soon to be 17 years of experience) who sold her properties very quickly.  She simply posted a “FOR SALE” banner across the front of her homes for sale.  And got a quick response.

I have no idea of the local ordinances you may be facing, but, in general, banners are considered in many places as “temporary signage,” so, can I ask you, the real estate agent or home owner wishing to sell your house, “Why in the world would you not choose to post a 4x8 or 3x5 foot banner saying “Home For Sale” or something like this?

I really don’t believe many or nearly any sales agents or home owners are doing this.  And sure, what neighbors would want you to post this type of sign?  But if it’s legal in your area (for now,) why not do it?  Like all other great ideas (not my own!) take advantage of it if you can!
