To weave...
To weave...
Or not to weave?
Or not to weave?

Okay, I've seen many an argument about real hair versus weaves, extensions, and wigs.  A lot of people are anti-weave, claiming that it somehow transforms you into this mystical, phony hair having person that you're not.  On the opposite side of the spectrum there are also those that think that natural, kinky or curly hair is messy, ugly, and  unprofessional.  Even those with relaxers that have their real hair get flack from some 'naturalistas' who think that they are trying to portray someone they aren't, (and those of you that feel that way know just what I'm talking about.)   People, Its only hair! Whether it be natural in twists, braids, or dreadlocks, or unbe-weavable, down to your booty, it's all about preference.  If you prefer to let your natural roots show, so be it.  Go play in the rain, because we both know that everyone is not able  to lol. There's nothing wrong with taking pride in your naturalness.  If you choose to relax every visible wave and 'nap' from your hair, more power to you. It doesn't mean that you're turning your back on your heritage... I know plenty of people that are not of African descent that relax their hair, simply because it makes their hair easier to maintain, not because they're turning their backs on their people.  For the weave princesses (or princes ;) ), pat your weave or wig with pride! Shake that shiny sew-in! You paid for it, so get your moneys worth!  All I'm saying is no matter what type of hair you have or style you decide to rock, own it, and forget about those that have nothing better to do than judge what you're doing.  Do whatever with yourself and your image that is going to make you happy!

As long as the fake hair does not look ridiculous, I am fine with it. It is a personal choice. I have friends who have weaves and they look nice. On the other hand, I have a friend who looks like a slob because the weave looks fake and messy. Great hub!
