Real Estate Winners

Madrid like any other Big City has its downs and ups in this case more downs than ups.

Looking at the title above you might think that I´m singing the praise of the Real Estate Agents.
Far from it although they are having many problems right now I am not given to airing my own views about their practices.
Real Estate Agents have a big big problem in Madrid.
However I´m not writing about Real Estate Agents and what they do.
A few days ago a Story that hit the Television Headlines is about five Women living all on their own all by themselves in a huge block of almost derelict Flats. The flats themselves are not in that bad a condition but because People have been forced out of there the conditions have gone right down the drain. They have no electricity or running water as such.
Five Women elderly very little Pension no Family support apparent and constantly being bullied and mobbed by a certain Real Estate Agent and company that are trying to persuade them to go.
These Women for me are like lights shining in the Dark Night.
Conditions they are living in are quite bad. No water not because they have´nt paid but because the People who own the Building well you can imagine.
Walls in want of plaster and ceilings as well and the Doors are starting to warp.
Are these Women going to give up? They reckon not likely as long as they have the strength to keep going.
The lack of moral and social support for them is quite surprising or maybe not.
Maybe if those who don´t want to help them found themselves in the position maybe they would sing a different song.
Guess what the song might be "All By Myself".
Thankfully not all Real Estate Agencies have these practices most of them are above board honest People and I know a few of them at least here anyway.
Five Women that are like modern Warriors holding their own against the Enemy.
Of course these Women get fed up and lonely after all they are completely on their own no one will light a Candle for them.
Reasons for them to be thrown out are not viable when it comes to the welfare of People whatever their age.
This is a real happening thats going on all over Spain.
I wonder if these Real Estate Agents in particular would do this to their own Mother I mean treat them so badly?
Spain is a country of great contrasts and this is one of them.
Madrid is a very expensive City to live in also but it is itself a very interesting place to visit.
Barcelona is my favourite place and City.
On another note unfortunately sad story of another elderly lady who has been taken for a ride and had her House where she has lived all her married life snatched from right under her nose no one is offering her another alternative home not the town hall any one this lady touched my heart why should she have to suffer this way. I don´t know the outcome of the Story as the News is only interested in other Junk Of The Day business not real People like you and me. What they have done here with this Lady by law is completely illegal and yet they have got away with it. Fortunately I rarely watch the Television or the News sometimes because I´m too busy with other things.

A lot of People that live in Madrid live in some very stressful conditions.People living on high rise flats with no lift or lifts are not working agressive neighbours. However on the bright side there are People who get together and plan to work together to eradicate the bullies from their area and improve conditions for less fortunate People thank God for the Warriors of Madrid.
