There are now thousands of supposedly authentic ghost videos that have been uploaded into the public domain, some are laughably bad, some have made me think, and a few have sent chills up my spine and have been believable enough to make me ponder the question with some seriousness, ‘are ghosts real?’

The thing I’ve found with those who enjoy watching these kind of paranormal ghost videos, is that you either believe in all of them (even the really bad ones) or you believe in none of them and nothing on this earth is going to convince you that real ghosts have ever been caught on video.

OK, well that’s not quite true, there is a middle party, and that’s where I fit in, I love watching ghost videos, I’ve never had any paranormal experiences of my own, but I’m open to the idea that ghosts might exist, I guess what I’m saying is that I’m the grey area, the key demographic that the makers of or the documenters of these supposed genuine hauntings are trying to convince.

Ghost Video Number 1 Background Story:

The person who filmed this ghost video claims to have been experiencing weird paranormal occurrences in their home, they hire a medium to come and channel the spirit and for reasons unknown to me the medium decides to do a drawing of the ghost / demon, which ends up looking more than a little like the girl from the Ring movies. So anyways, apparently the medium drawing its picture angers the ghost and well… watch this spooky ghost video to find out what happens next.

* In the picture drawn by the medium the ghost / demon / whatever appears to be holding a clump of hair.

Ghost Video Number 2 Background Story:

The story behind this next one is that the guy who uploaded the videos buddies went walking through the woods and stumbled across an old chapel, they’re pretty freaked out from the start from stumbling around in the woods in the dark and all, they manage to find their way inside the chapel and then… Watch this supposedly real ghost video to find out.

Notes:

This is a fairly well made little ghost video, but had they been watching a little too much Blair Witch, it's certainly got the same kind of feel about it.

Ghost Video Number 3 Background Story:

In this ghost video some Asian tourists are visiting some kind of cliff face looking out over the ocean, nothing seems particularly out of the ordinary until the narrators sombre voice cuts in and explains to us the viewers exactly what we just failed to see… Real ghost caught on video? You decide.

Notes:

This ghost video possibly demonstrates the ‘echo’ theory, the idea that ghosts are projections of events that have happened at a specific place to a specific person in the past, and that these projections or echoes are then repeated over and over and over…

Ghost Video Number 4 Background Story:

Crazy Teacher Alert in this ghost video, but that doesn’t detract from the overall authentic feeling of this one. Creepy Ghost Footage Captured by Security Cameras at a NC High School that even made it onto the news, could this be an angry pupil come back to terrorize a teacher, a spook that just has to finish it's diploma if it's the last thing it does or merely a trick of the light...

Like I said above this ghost video comes across as a bit more authentic then some I’ve seen, it’s less showy and dramatic, hence more believable. However even a school isn’t above faking a little haunted ghost action to get on the news if it thinks it’ll bring them in a little revenue to pay for that new I.T. suite. But what do you think?
