Difference between an MLM and a pyramid scheme
75MLM,pyramid, or just plain scam?
Many people are looking for a real way to make honest money using the Internet. Some try eBay, some try setting up a business based on a brick and mortar shop, but some become in MLM (Multi Level Marketing).
At first glance this appears to be one of the easiest ways to make a few fast bucks and then pull out. This is the trick, most people are promised thousands of dollars with no work, no sales, no nothing other than a fee of $x one time or $x per month. They buy into the program spend huge amounts and then leave with NOTHING to show. When that happens, I'm sorry...you did two things wrong. First you scammed YOURSELF by hoping for a free ride. Second, you were scammed by the program simply because you believed something that was 'to true to beleive'.
When you pay into a program that does not offer a service or product instead provides something like making more money by bringing in more people this is a scam pyramid. There is a person at the top that started the program brings in others under them then they bring in others under them for x amount of dollars. The money gets pushed upward. The person at the top makes the money, takes the money and runs leaving the others with virtually nothing, no product, no service, and no MONEY! As people drop out others come in and this keeps going for a long time.
But there are other things that appear no to be pyramids because they offer something that 'every needs' like vitamins, or advertising or whatever. The problem? The market becomes supersaturated with everyone buying the same thing from each other and the only one that makes a profit is the one at the top level and the supplier of the product/service. This collapses and every one is stuck with vast inventories of whatever that no one wants.
MLM on the other hand are programs that have new and interesting products and service to be sold as well as the potential for binging in new members to make more income for themselves. The thing here is that these program take hard work, long term time investments, and honesty toward each other, There will aslo be a very large support staff, communication from up-line sponsors and useful tools to help the person grow in the particular business. The primary thing here is that it is brought out tho the front that this will require hard honest work, true time commitment, and some ongoing investment in advertising, promotional programs and the like to see an eventual income. There are no false promises of unrealistic incomes. The does seem to be a particular company that provides this and can be looked at here it is the traditional MLM approach with many ways ti grow. Along with that if you have a particular desire to just sell products and services there is a telecommunications group that is growing and has been in-place for a number of years. If you like you can get more information here.
So, please take your time to check deeply into the programs. If there are free or low cost requirements check them out. The primary thing here is to first be honest with yourself, set some reasonable growth goals, and then investigate a chosen program by using the Internet or word of mouth research to see the validity of the chosen programs.
