Mingling with others constantly does not always guarantee a peaceful and harmonious relationship. That, no matter how hard we try to sustain a good relationship with others, there will always come a time that it will be stained. It is when gaps, misunderstandings, or chaos occur among us. Perhaps, it is because we sometimes have a misconception, or partial judgement about them and without noticing, we are already going beyond our limitations that turns to be offensive and an act of disrespect.

The things that we see in them with our naked eyes and their backgrounds that we gathered from other sources like family background, race, culture, religion, customs and belief, social class are not enough to give a conclusion about their entire humanity. Remember, there are other things that we might not have known about them. Neither one of us know someone else very well not even we know ourselves completely. There are parts of us we are not aware of and sometimes become grounds for others to give judgment on us. It is like we are finding faults of others and the same thing they do.Therefore,If we are trying to establish a good relationship with others, we ought to give them respect as we would want them to do for us.

Respect is just hard to give when it is not found in us, yet, the harder it is to gain when we don't deserve it. It means then, that we should respect ourselves first before we could respect others. Giving importance to our feelings, thoughts, and everything that we possess as human are extremely important.These are the pre-requisites to enable us to know the similarities and contrast that link us to others. Then, we will be able to understand what they might feel if not given due respect. It is not hard to give respect for someone who respects himself, is it?
