High cholesterol, or hypercholesterolemia, is a condition in which a person has excess levels of cholesterol in the blood. Though some amount of cholesterol is necessary for the proper functioning of our body, too much of this can lead to various health problems. Regular exercises will help us reduce the amount of cholesterol in our blood. Shifting to healthy lifestyle habits can work wonders for bringing down the level of cholesterol.

It is better to avoid fried foods and fatty foods in order to maintain the level of cholesterol in our blood. Medications and treatment procedures are also available for lowering the amount of cholesterol. These medications should be administered with the help of a physician. These medications absorb selective cholesterol in the blood and the amount of cholesterol gets lowered in the repeated process.
