Panic attack is a mental disorder characterized by the intense feeling of anxiety and fear. There are many reasons why people experience panic attack.Panic attacks are generally caused by high anxiety.

The Symptoms of Panic Attacks

The symptom includes rapid heart rate, sweating, trembling, shortness of breath and hyperventilation, chills, hot flashes, nausea, abdominal cramping, chest pain, headache, dizziness, faintness, tightness in your throat, trouble swallowing and a sense of impending death.

Is Heridity the Reason for Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks are not hereditary.Research studies have shown that panic attacks can develop in an anxious environment, but generally panic attack sufferers develop the disorder in isolation.

It also appears when there are major life changes such as getting married, graduating from college and entering the work place etc.Severe anxiety may be caused by the emotional reasons like death of a loved one, divorce, or job failure can also cause panic attack.

Are Childhood Circumstances the Reason for Panic Attacks?

Panic attacks in children may result in the child's grades declining, avoiding schools and other separations from parents.Certain childhood circumstances are usually present in people who eventually develop Panic Disorder.

Some Panic Disorder sufferers have experienced conditions like childhood trauma, neglect, or abandonment, parental alcoholism,loss of a parent due to death or divorce.

The Other Reasons for Panic Attacks

- Having phobias

- A health problem like overactive thyroid, hypoglycemia, post traumatic stress.

- Depression or similar mood disorder

- Use of alcohol

- High use of caffiene

- Use of certain medications

- Living with high stres levels all the time

- Taking illegal drugs like marijuaine or cocaine.

- The financial insecurity

thank you. i jsut had a panic attack and came across your website. it is very handy and calmed me down after about 5 mins. it was an exhausting one aswell and i feel tired now. im 19 btw. and yes good tips about life and my job. i shall eat much better food and give it a try. get rid of these panic attacks. and i will try and take a diff aproach about my job but it is difficult. maybe i just need a holliday for a bit of me time that would be good. i feel trapped here and that is the main "problem".

hubber for people that have never had one let me tell you this. You know when you have one. If you would have told me originally about this stuff I would have said it's all in your head, but when you have one, and see it first hand you realize how much havoc they can reap.
