Reborn doll collecting started in the 1990's and has exploded in popularity ever since. The media quickly picked up on the reborn doll market and began saturating the airwaves with stories about these dolls.

Reborn dolls are extremely life like baby dolls that have been stripped down to their barest essentials and rebuilt one step at a time. Using high quality materials and a variety of skillful techniques reborn doll artists create these masterpieces for the rest of us to enjoy.

While the strinkingly life like nature of these rare dolls is what attracts many people, the actions of the collectors is what really attracts the attention of the world. Featured on shows like Today, Dr. Phil, 20/20 and a variety of talk shows the media has focused on how reborn doll owners treat their dolls just like real babies.

 Like we mentioned above the reborn doll market and collectors have gotten a lot of press around the world.  Yet, not all of it is good.  A lot of people think that the collectors of these pieces of art are "weird" and that the dolls look "creepy".

I personally don't see the creepy thing.  They are super life like, but that has always made me more intrigued in them and how they were made.  While it's all a matter of personal opinion I don't think there is anything wrong with reborn doll collecting.

Let's face it, they are fun!  It's like being a kid again and getting to play with really cool dolls.  Plus, mental health professionals have begun using reborns as therapy for people who have suffered the loss of a child.  As long as you aren't delusional and really think your reborn is alive, then there is nothing wrong with it.
