Isaiah 66:1

1 This is what the Lord says:

Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will
build for me?
Where wil my resting place be?

Whom does the Lord “regard?

Regard: to look upon

to observe

to stare

to gaze upon

The House or resting placethat the Lord is referring to here, is the human HEART.

What kind of heart is He drawn to? A humble heart.

There is one corner in this universe that you can be certain of change : your own self, your heart ( intimate place)

Humility has its roots in Christ. He is the picture of genuine humility. He authored it, as a matter of fact.

When you lean towards humility, it draws the very finest in life.

On the other hand, pride will alienate you from Christ.

God is not against the proud, but He will resist the proud!

1 Peter 5: 5

Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

( Reality Check )

There are actually two kinds of people : the blessed and the broken

1. Broken are those who have suffer emotionally, physically, socially in their lives. These are people who live and endure wounded broken lives. There’s tenderness and reality in them. There’s an intangible but real humility in them.

2. Then there are those we call Blessed. Those people who experienced “minimal drama” in life. Sans the sufferings and brokenness in life.

So what’s the point?

One doesn’t have to broken in order to be humble. On the other hand, one can truly be humble amidst the overflow of blessings.

It doesn’t matter in which state one is in, whether broken or blessed, to be drawn to the absolute expensiveness of God’s existence. Humility is all it takes to bask in the Holy Presence of God and get fully drawn to His own heart.

Learning to totally submit to the Lordship of Christ and letting Him rule over your life is the first and basic step in meriting God’s favor. It certainly takes humility to do that.

Nice hub on humility. The humble heart is a heart that God will bless and fill. Jesus was humble and we must do as He does.

I fully agree, SirDent. Though at times, I admit, I seem to be proud and haughty. Thats why this hub really spoke to my heart. God is good and faithful. He is slow to anger but abundant in His forgiveness.

God bless you, and thanks for your comment.
