Even though the grilling season is almost over and we didn't have much of a summer this year, I would be remiss if I didn't post this great barbecue sauce that was a favorite around our house. Nunny preferred a hot dog grilled until it was black, but she really knew how to cook a barbecue sauce for the rest of the family.

This sauce is great spread over chicken, steak, ribs or any other of your barbecuing meats.
It may also be used as a base for sliced kolbassi, party weiners, or meatballs to be used as an appetizer on your party buffet table.

Ingredients

1/4 cup chopped onions sauted
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
dash cayenne
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons whostershire sauce
1/2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/2 cup chopped celery

How To Mix and Cook

Saute the onions.
Combine remaining ingredients in order mixing each time.
simmer for 20 minutes
