New York City has sometimes been referred to as the center of the world. There are few who would argue with this title. New York City has the highest population of any city in the United States, with over 8 million residents. It is home to more international commerce and politics than any other city in the world. This includes the United Nations building, which houses one of the largest international consular corp. It is also home to a huge amount of international trade and commerce (making it one of the command centers, along with Tokyo and London).
New York City also has a booming tourist industry. It is home to some of the most recognizable American landmarks, including the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Millions of tourists flock through each year to see the many attractions. The city is a strong theatrical community, holding a number of live performances at different large venues. New York City is also a great place for shopping, sightseeing and learning, particularly at the different zoos and aquariums available in the city.

I guess nothing really beats shopping and the events in New York during Christmas time ;)
I love a good night's sleep too so beds and pillows are really important but another thing I look for in my hotel room is the bath tub. After a hard days work (or partying :D) you just soak into the warm water and relax. Ah. Heaven ^_^
