Finished owl birdie ring box

I decided to make some silly rings for my friends as a gift, and came up with this idea for cute ring boxes. It's really, really easy and super fast, so you could try this one. Also, it's so easy that kids could do it, too.

Finished ring boxes

Tutorial:

1) Materials neeed:

  • egg styrofoam carton
  • scissors
  • adhesive tape
  • stuff for decorating - permanent markers, colors,...

2) Cut Styrofoam as shown:

3) After you cut out the egg carton you'll have two kinds of Styrofoam pieces - the ones that were on the corners (4 of them) and the ones that were in the middle (6 of them). Use one from the corner and one from the middle to make a ring box, and glue them together using an adhesive tape:

4) Cut out the marked parts for the symmetry:

5) Almost done! Now you have a blank birdie that you can turn to any bird you like by decorating. Also, it's great how you can open the birds beak by pressing the tail :)

6) Decorate the blank bird, and that's it!

Hope you liked it!
