The cost of food is going so high and with a family to feed it can be expensive. Here are some ideas to help save some of the cost. You can substitute non-fat milk in recipes, or mix with whole milk.It is not only very good, but lower in cholesterol. Substitute plain yougurt in place of sour cream for dips and baked potatoes. Did you know you can make your own yougurt using non-fat milk, regular milk, and yougurt culture.
Leftover turkey, beef or chicken can be creamed over toast or cut into strips over salads. Leftover pancake batter can be mixed with meat and deep fried for fritters. Leftover hot dog buns can be cut into strips sprinkled with spices and heated in the oven to be changed into breadsticks.
Don't cook for an army when you only have a family of two.
Make your own snacks use crushed ice, pour fruit juice over it for snow cones.Popcorn balls are easy and inexpensive. Bake your cakes and cupcakes instead of buying them.
