Red Spots on Skin can be caused by several reasons. It can be distressing to see red spots on your skin and not know the actual cause for the condition. There can be many reasons for red spots of bumps to appear on human skin and even if you compare photographs of the red spots versus known ailments, you may not be too sure of what is the cause.

The first thing you would like to do when red spots or bumps appear on your skin is to maintain cleanliness of skin. It could have been caused by an allergic reaction to external chemicals or plant materials such as poison ivy and you should clean the skin surface immediately. Itchiness could also be quite common and you should avoid scratching the affected part of the body. A topical cream with Hydrocortisone should be used and it should reduce the itch.

Heat Rash

One of the most common causes for red spots on your skin is due to heat rash, which can be caused by the wearing of tight clothing or even between skin creases due to the blockade of sweat ducts. This happens often to active children and even to overweight people. Try to keep cool and wear looser clothing.

A heat rash is a presentation of itchy, small red spots, especially under tight clothing or at skin creases, due to blocking of sweat ducts. It is particularly likely to occur in children, old people, and those who are overweight. It may be prevented by wearing loose clothing, staying out of the sun, and taking frequent tepid (not cold) showers.

Atopic eczema

Atopic eczema is also commonly seen in children and adults. It is a skin condition that comes about due to allergens and even stress. Once the skin flared up with eczema, it typically looks reddish and a large patch of rash appears. It is itchy and can cause scarring if the person scratches it. Generally topical medication should be sufficient but for serious cases oral corticosteroids can be prescribed.

Cherry Angioma

Cherry Angioma is a skin condition that can be hereditary. There will be bright red skin spots that will appear all over the skin and because the red bumps are made up by small capillaries at the surface of the skin, the red spots can bleed freely if injured. Generally they do not itch and does not require treatment, however if removal is needed, cryosurgery or laser treatment can be easily performed.

Hand, Foot and Mouth disease (HFMD)

For children or infants, if there are red spots or rash with blisters on the palms of the hand or foot, together with the onset of fever, it could likely be Hand, Foot and Mouth disease (HFMD). HFMD typically strikes children who attend daycare or school where the risk of infection from another child is high. The illness will start with fever and sore throat and also a poor appetite. There may be sores or ulcers in the mouth, and rashes or red spots may appear on the palms of the hand and soles of the feet. Immediate medical attention is recommended.

The appearance of red spots or bumps on the skin can be a distressing affair. We should always aim to avoid skin irritation which can bring about the common eczema or heat rash by keeping our body cool and clean, avoid wearing tight fitting clothing especially if you are staying in a humid environment. And if your skin tends to be dry, use a moisturizer which will avoid dryness which can also bring about eczema. Take good care of your skin, having red spots appearing on your skin can be avoided with good skin care.

I've been struggling with acne for years, I have acne scars all over my face (I'm in 30s). Although I don't get many breakouts as I used to, I still have one or two zits come out and they are big, painful ones. When they finally heal, it leaves dark, red-brownish scar. I really wanted them go away.

I've read all the reviews of the Made from Earth products - and they were true! I am pleasantly surprised. I only used the ROOIBOS FACE DETOX SCRUB at night after I wash my face. Though the texture is light, it doesnt get greasy when applied.

As many have mentioned, it is oil afterall.

I've been using this once a day for 3 weeks now and I DO see a difference. The unevenness and redness are significantly reduced. I'm not saying they are completely gone, but acne scars look much lighter now. A surprizing side effect is that I haven't got any breakout since I started using the Made from Earth Detox Scrub. My skin is finally acne-free! I've tried many, many things over the years, but never thought of trying a chemical free scrub on my skin rather tried to avid it.
