Dog Food Recall
The pet food is being recalled because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious infections in dogs and cats, and, if there is cross contamination, in people, especially children, the aged, and people with compromised immune systems.
The recalled product should not be sold or fed to pets. Pet owners should dispose of product in a safe manner (example, a securely covered trash receptacle) and return the empty bag to the store where purchased for a full refund.
Recalled Products:
Which ever brand of pet food you decide to feed to your cat or dog make sure the pet food does not include Corn, Wheat, or Soy. These three grains are killers. Corn, Wheat and Soy are toxic to cats and dogs. Cats and dogs are meat eaters and should not be fed grains. The grains are included in pet food not as a benifit to cats and dogs but only to cut the cost of producing pet food.
Dogs and Cats on a diet which includes corn, wheat, or soy will develope "hot spots" on the skin, hair loss, itching and scratching, flaky skin, paw licking, elevated body temperature, ear infections, swelling, increased nail growth, moles, enlarged kidneys, enlarged liver, blindness, heart conditions, tumors, and eventually will die an early death. - Susan Peters

We have two labrador retrievers, a 4 1/2 year-old chocolate lab and a 10 months old black lab. The Vet told us to feed both dogs with the same food, because the dogs were eating each others food and the puppy really needs to get all the nutrients from the puppy food. So we have been feeding them both with Exclusive Chicken and Rice Large Breed Puppy Dog Food, which great results. We used to feed our first dog with Purina PMI for puppies and he did good with that food. Then we changed to Purina PMI for adults and then they changed their name to Red Flannel and then the seizures started. Our dog had his first seizure when he was 2 years old and in total he has had about 5 to 6 seizures until we changed his food to Exclusive Chicken and Rice Large Breed Puppy Dog Food. We think it could be the omega oils that these food has. This month we will change to Exclusive Lamb & Rice Adult Formula because our black lab will be a year old. We were not which adult food was going to be better, the Chicken & Rice Adult Formula or the Lamb & Rice Formula. So we checked online and the Lamb & Rice Formula has better ratings because has no corn and no gluten. Is this food ok for Labrador Retrievers and for Large Breeds?

i dont know who susan peters is or what she/he qualifications are for mouthing off about purina, etc i feed all my pets purina their coats & their health is excellent and, i might add, when during the pet food recall sadly people who were feeding the so-called "gourmet" brands lost their pets from contamination, purina products, w/ the exception of mighty dog, were safe .furthermore her statement about dogs & cats being carnivores exclusively is more ignorance. while it is true that cats are obligate carnivores & need a hi-protein animal-sourced diet, our domesticated canines can survive with lower percentages/quantity of animal protein.
