Family-Oriented Luxury Casino and Resort

My first visit to the relatively new Red Rock Casino in West Las Vegas - and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a new design from the ground up. It borrows slightly from the recent Wynn Hotel and Casino - both having the shiny, tinted glass facades that are so popular now.

The Red Rock differs by being close to the real Red Rock recreation area and hills about 15 miles from the strip. The hotel boasts great views of both the colorful hills AND the colorful strip. Another big difference between the Red Rock and other luxury properties is that this place is way more family oriented. The Bellagio and the Wynn don't have movie theatres and food courts: Panda Express, Pizza, etc. etc.

I didn't stay at the Red Rock, but the rooms look incredible on the website:

Ther are numerous upscale restaurants, lots of free, covered parking, a great pool area and a luxury spa with an array of new age health treatments. The room I liked the best was the Sports Book - state of the art sxreens everywhere - very comfortable.

For adults, you can go see the retro, high energy swing boys from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for FREE - for all fans of the Vince Vaughn movie: Swingers (last dance scene).

Friday, October 13, 2006 & Saturday, October 14, 2006 Rock's Lounge Doors: 8:00pm, Showtime: 9:00pm Free Admission

If anybody has checked out the rooms or the spa - let me know.

Great place to visit - but too far from strip and too expensive to stay there.
