Self-Help for Vivid Scar Tissue
It is impossible to go through life without receiving scrapes of some kind as much as we would prefer to do so. Most of our bumps and abrasions occur during childhood when we are naturally clumsy and more energetic and some of those abrasions inevitably scar.
Whilst most of us are not really concerned with the odd scar or two, it can be a real cause for concern depending on where the scar is placed. Facial scars may be a lot harder to cope with if they are vivid and noticeable - at least to those who endure them.
Abrasions and cuts and the subsequent scars that are left do gradually fade and could simply be ignored where possible but if they really become an aesthetic issue then there are many self-help natural tips to use. Whilst they are not a guaranteed way of removing the scars, they can help to accelerate the healing process and sometimes the scars can fade so that they are barely noticeable.
If you have a cut, graze or scar then it is worth trying out the following self-help techniques:
Fresh wounds
If you have just cut or grazed yourself, it is important that you clean the area sufficiently and you can do this by adding lavender and tea tree oil to a large cup of water as this will clean the area. Adding two to three drops of lavender to a piece of gauze afterwards and covering the area will help to promote healing. Repeat as required.
Rosehip seed oil
This is a useful oil to use to help the skin regenerate which is important when trying to reduce scarring. It is extremely beneficial for scarring caused through acne, damage from the sun, burns and even surgical scars. Simply massage the oil directly onto the scar.
Aloe Vera
This is wonderful for the skin and has been known to help improve and heal scar tissue. Always check the label to ensure that you are purchasing a good quality Aloe Vera, take advice from an expert if not sure.
Diet
Much of any healing is done internally, and water is very important to the natural healing process and to keep the body healthy. This is the same for food intake; eat nutritious food that will help keep the body in optimum condition.
Meditation
Meditation is not just for relaxation, it can be used very effectively for promoting inner healing with very little knowledge or experienced required. Attend a class or purchase guided meditations on CD's.
