Stomach Fat - Why Do So Many Of Us Have It?

There must be only a very few people who, if asked, would say that they are completely happy with how they look. I have certainly never met anyone who felt that way.

It seems we are all in some way or other dissatisfied with our appearance. One of the biggest factors is, of course, weight. A very high proportion of us are unhappy about our weight, and with good reason. Today more people than ever before are overweight whether it be a little or a lot.

Its a serious problem .Being overweight makes people miserable, affects their confidence and worst of all can seriously affect their health. It can be a hard thing to turn around, too. Its ok saying that if you adopt a good exercise and diet regime that the fat will gradually go. It will, but the person has to be the right mindset and determined to actually stick to it.

The area of the body which seems to be the most prone to laying down fat is that stomach. Even people who are not especially overweight can have a bit of a wobble going on around the tummy area. Naturally having kids doesn't help so a lot of women do suffer from this.

We all know about the dreaded " muffin top"!

But You Can Get Rid Of Your Belly Fat!

Yes, it absolutely can be done. You Can Reduce Your Stomach Fast.

But it can't be done overnight, lets be clear about that.

Think about it for a moment - how long did it take you to put it on? Years probably. For most of us it sort of crept up on us bit by bit. We kept telling ourselves that it was a temporary thing, we would sort it out after Christmas, after the Summer break, after whatever. We never did and now its big and it won't go away.

It may have taken years to put on but it won't take years to get off again if you do things right.

How Do I get Rid of My Belly Fat?

In all honestly I don't think that there is one absolute must do regime for this. I think you just need certain elements to be there.

  1. Common sense. This is an essential element. If you are overweight and you don't change anything then you will stay overweight. You won't suddenly wake up one morning and fit it gone. In fact it will get worse. So you have to do something.
  2. Your fat is made up of,well, fat. Food with lots of fat in it build up fat in your body. So cut out foods high in fat like cream, cheese, fried stuff - you know yourself which foods are fatty, you don't need me to list them.
  3. Eat lots of fruit. Nothing new there. Its good for you and you can eat as much of it as you like. Eating a lot of fruit actually tends to stop you craving for sweet stuff after a while.
  4. Eat lots of veg. Again this is old hat but true - good for you. In your main meal increase your veg portion and reduce the rest. Do it gradually though.
  5. Cakes and biscuits should be occasional treats. Don't cut them out altogether - life is too short not to eat cake! But just a little slice.
  6. When you go shopping don't buy the bad stuff - if its not there you can't eat it!

I am perfectly aware that everything I have said above has been said before goodness knows how many times by goodness knows how many people. But the reason I said it again is that, quite simply, IT WORKS. If you do the things above you WILL lose weight.

Exercise!!!

Yes, exercise. Do it.

If you exercise regularly your body will burn off more fat. Plain and simple. But it must be regular. A mad exercise binge once every two weeks will just make you sore and exhausted.

Regular exercise encourages your metabolism to speed up. Your body cottons on to the fact that your are using more energy and so it knows that it needs to provide you with more fuel more quickly. In other words it becomes more efficient. You lose fat and you feel better too, more alive.

So try to do some exercise at least four times week. It needs to be enough to bring out a sweat and get you out of breath. neddless to say, if you are very overweight or have any medical conditions then consult your doctor first.

Brisk walking, running, swimming and cycling are all great. Do what suits you. Joining a gym can be a great way to motivate yourself but it doesn't suit everyone.

Again all of this is nothing new but often people just don't do it and then wonder why they are still overweight.

Anyone who has some weight to lose and observes these simple diet and exercise rules will lose weight. Its a simple biological fact.

Do Not Do Diet Pills

Diet pills are a con. They don't work. Goodness knows what would have to be in them to make them work anyway.

I personally spent £200 on these after the birth of my third child as I was overweight and desperate to lose it. I lost nothing except my money. I didn't even admit to my husband what I had done as I was so embarrassed about it.

Trim Your Tummy With Yoga

Avoid 'Diet' Drinks

These so called diet drinks are the worst enemy of anyone tring to lose weight.

The artificial sweeteners in them mess with the appetite mechanism in your brain and make you feel hungry. They also stop your body absorbing the nutrients from your food. There has been a lot of research done on this and I will add more about this soon.
