Many poeple want to find ways of reducing anxiety. Stress can cause all kind of problems to the body. It can cause you to shut down mentally, heart problems, and many more health problems. In order to lower your anxiety levels, you first need to lower your stress. However, there are many things that can help in reducing you anxiety.

Signs of Anxiety

When you have excessive anxiety, there are many things going on in your body. Your body is releasing adrenaline, your cortisol levels are rising and your sugar levels rise too.A few signs and symptoms that you are having anxiety areas follows:

  1. Heart Palpitations
  2. Sweating
  3. Shaking
  4. Can't Breath
  5. Fear of impending doom
  6. Uneasiness
  7. Excessive Worrying
  8. Insomnia

Ways to Overcome Anxiety

Here are a few ways to stop your anxiety attacks:

  1. Slowly reduce and stop caffine and sugar-Sugar and caffine causes more adreniline to be released
  2. Meditate-meditation is a great way to take your mind off of stress and anxiety
  3. Relaxation and Deep Breathing-Buy some relaxation Cd's and lay in bed and deep breath. Also,start from your toes and work all the way up your body tensing and releasing your muscles.
  4. Positive thinking-Think positive each day. Positive thinking can really change the way you feel.
  5. Positive self-talk-Find the good in yourself. Don't be so hard on yourself.
  6. Set small goals-set goals and be realistic
  7. Quit worrying-Worry will not solve anything. Try to avoid worrying about things you have no control over.
  8. Exercise-Exercise releases endorphins that make you feel good. You can start by just walking and then wok your way up to more exercise.
  9. Don't expect perfection-Try to accept your flaws as well as everyone Else's. Don't sweat the small stuff.
  10. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Seek the help of a therapist. This can be real helpful to find what is causing your anxiety.

I had to quit caffine and sugar . I just did it cold turkey. It was a big mistake to do it that way because I had terrible headaches for a month. However, now I am completly off of both and feel great.

Wow... never heard the sugar and caffine thing before. I guess I should give it a try... maybe it will help me too!

Anxiety Sufferer, if you cut back on the sugar and caffine, it will reduce your anxiety to a large degree. If you do try to quit all caffine, do it slowly. Caffine is a drug and you will have terrible headaches if you stop your intake of caffine suddenly.
