Reiki Case Studies:Insomnia - Neck Pain
78Goal: Write Quality Content for the Highest Traffic Reiki Hub
Let me begin by setting out my goal for this hub. I intend to contribute regularly from over ten years of experience and make this the highest value reiki content on the internet today. I will be writing from personal experience and using case studies and examples of real world problems and issues which reiki has made a contribution to solving.
Where It All Began
In 1997 I was working in London in a media related job for a multinational company and supervising a staff or eighteen. As you can imagine the role dominated my life and caused me a high level of stress. Issues faced by my team included Mental Illness, Alcoholism &Self Harm .
At the beginning of 1998 as part of a review of my life as it stood at the time I began looking for ways to reduce the level of stress I was experiencing from the job. I soon enrolled in a buddhist meditation evening course in covent garden on monday evenings and after a couple of sessions had noticed a slight change in my attitude and a reduction in my stress level.
In February of 1998 I attended an afternoon hands on healing workshop at my local health centre - which happened to be within 200 yards of my home. During this session I was coached in basic hands on healing and discovered that I could "pick up on " issues simply by placing my hands over peoples bodies. I had not experienced this before and was curious about developing the ideas I had been introduced to.
In April 1998 I attended a workshop and reiki initiation hosted by Neil Townsend at that same local health centre and became initiated into the TeraMai system of reiki-seichem.
Reiki is a form of hands on and distant healing which has grown out of a mystical experience on a mountain nearly a hundred years ago.Mikao Usui is the originator of the system in Japan and added the motto of the Japanese Emperor to an intuitive healing process which he evolved from meditation and chi gung practice (chi gung is similar to tai chi) although the system as it is taught today is much later in origin.
Case Study : Neck and Shoulder Pain.
This case study relates to a client I had recently on an informal basis who was suffering from restless sleeping patterns and neck and shoulder pain. I did a short (ten minute) reiki session for him - also utilising some accupressure techniques and a guided visualisation.
This particular client reported back that his sleeping pattern was improved for the next six weeks and the neck pain completely gone as a result of this short session.
For these types of short informal sessions I normally ask for donations at http://www.buydennisabeer.com which is a site I set up to ensure that a short session is not automatically a "free" session. I find that many people will assume that I'm giving them a free sample. This can work in my favour if they refer paying customers as a result of the free session but in many cases people are just taking advantage of my expertise and experience. The payment system I have set up gives people the opportunity to make a $7 payment in exchange for the results they are getting.
Case Study: Relationship & Sexual Healing
This client asked me for a reiki session to empower her sex life. The session was short (ten minutes) and resulted in a steamy affair which lasted 8 weeks. My client was very happy indeed with the results of this session.
Case Study :Neck Pain
I remember a few years ago doing a short reiki session for a lady who was a regular in the voice chat room of a particular spiritual community (the session lasted about ten minutes) during which I asked her to breathe in blue light to deal with a specific neck pain she had been having for years. I've got a testimonial from her somewhere in which she states that the pain was eased considerably as a result of this session (I'll add the testimonial when I next check that particular old email account)
Reiki as a Business Model
Reiki as a model follows many of the characteristics of network marketing in the way that three levels of teaching are required before the energy can be passed on through initiation. It also shows the characteristics of any academic course which required basic, intermediateand advanced level qualifications. Many people only see the network marketing similarities and then switch off from looking objectively at reiki as a business model.
It is possible to cover the costs of training with reiki sessions for clients once level two initiation has been taken, I regard level one as purely for the purpose of self healing and would not recommend taking on paying clients until at least level two (with a good understanding of the principles involved and at least six months of self healing using reiki on a daily basis.)
My policy with students is to initiate into level one and then wait six months before level two is considered. This allows for the energy to settle in within the students energy field and become assimilated into daily practice.
Once it is clear to me that my student is serious about applying reiki to his or her personal development and healing then I will consider giving level two initiation.
As an alternative to this it is possible to take a regular reiju initiation every week for six months which shows committment.
Reiki as a treatment for Insomnia
One of the effects of a reiki session - even a ten minute informal session at a party or in a bar - is that my clients get a good nights sleep. The effect can last anything between one night and six weeks but I can pretty much guarantee that you will sleep much better for a period of time.I have several clients who come back to me for a top up session every six weeks to keep thei r sleeping pattern good.
If you require more business training before you take your reiki initiation my suggestion would be to sign up as a mastermind marketer at http://www.cashflowactivation.tv where you will find a range of speakers and business trainers guiding you through the strategic planning and marketing of a business. Reiki is not suited to everyone and will not make a profitable business in every location but has the potential to develop a sustainable income for those people who plan and market effectively. There is also the option once you have had the third level of training to create an internet based healing business.
I have been working in this way generating a small income from distant healing for the past ten years and can recommend it as a way to fund any additional training or personal development you may be considering.

Well, well, business advices are always welcome. Healing the others is beautiful, but certainly not the easiest job on the world.
Thumbs up.
Tajana, I recommend the training at http://www.ilearningglobal.tv for reiki practitioners if you are building an income from your reiki sessions. You can also sign up for training at http://www.cashflowactivation.tv which is my site.
There is a lot of good sales & marketing advice available.
I will add a module with some recommended resources.
tatjana, healing can only come from within ourselves, reiki in my view is a catalyst for a process which is already happening.I consider asking a clients permission to be a key part of the reiki process and understanding where a client puts their boundaries for change is essential. I often have the intention that a reiki session will work for a specific period of time (usually six weeks) as this give me an opportunity to reassess where my client is placing their boundaries and whether another session is appropriate. It was understanding this process of client feedback and personal responsibility which creates greater possibilities for both the clients healing process and my income.
I am a fan of Reiki energy healing. I have a brother who has incorporated it into his Reflexology parctice. Do you think it would be a good addition to a massage therapy business?
Reiki can enhance many different types of holistic therapies.I would check to see what the demand was in your local area and then decide.do some research, talk to other massage therapists in the area.different areas can have widely different levels of demand.I do informal sessions mainly on neck and shoulder issues for men locally but the demand for formal paid sessions is not regular here so I've adapted my approach for the local market.
read very carefully and what immediately came to my mind is, that you are doing great job while helping people. To cure different illnesses in my opinion is possible not only medical treatment, but with an appropriate meditation... I suppose that key point for releasing is trust to who or what we apply normally for help. sometimes a right word or small support of other will benefit a lot to find self-confidence and our abilities.
I agree with your statement Makuna, where there is trust, a positive relationship and clear comu nication, there is the possibility for healing. I use a short reiki session as the context because I know that it is a good quality context for healing.
Good to find you here. I have done something similar-recording steps on a spiritual journey. I wonder-what is youre experience with Kundalini?
Shealy,I have done sessions with clients in thwe past which were in effect Kundalini Activation sessions although I didn't express what I was doing in those terms to my client. It is possible, at the appropriate time to release the energy and produce a profound healing process. I mainly work with insomnia, neck and shoulder pain and cocaine addiction issues at the moment but in the past have worksed with clients who benefitted from kundalini activation.

Reiki on Youtube - A good Introduction
Reiki for "Cashflow Activation"
A number of years agoo now I had a conversation with a friend of mine in Amsterdam who was having some issues with her cashflow for a business project. She suggested that I apply my reiki experience to the problem and we did a 10 minute guided meditation and healing session with the intention of "unblocking " her cashflow.
I could feel where the money was blocked when I did this session for her and used several techniques to release the block which was causing the main problem.
I've done several sessions for people with similar cashflow issues over the past four years and received several good testimonials as a result. An unusual thing to apply reiki principles to cashflow but it works for me, at least.I'm not aware of anyone else working in this way to release blocks to cashflow although there may be people who do similar work.
