Why do people feel so much dissatisfaction in their lives and yet are unwilling to change it?

Many people do want to change the way they see life, live life, and by looking at the volume of information available to people we can safely say there are infinite number of ways to do so. But why don't people just do it! Well, it's easier said then done. There are blocks people carry, whether consciously or subconsciously that needs to be recognized first. Different professionals will look at different areas in order to help individuals: Defining realistic or unrealistic behaviors as one example. There seems to be a theme in how people are counseled, coached and advised falling into two main categories: The need to be loved/and love oneself and the need to feel worthy to oneself and to other people. Therapists proceed to ask questions and individuals will respond working out their issues. I also want to add here that I have adopted "past life" as being another area to look at when helping others who are seeking help, advise and trying to make a difference in their lives.

In keeping with this metaphysical outlook, I have been working alongside other professionals where I have came across several more underlying reasons for people's self deprecating ways. That is, lives lived not to their fullest and as a result of further analysis, there are other areas to consider when looking at some of people's blocks/underlying issues. By adding regressing techniques through hypnosis, symptoms not easily found in this life time can be enriched considerably because more information can become available. Information that wouldn't present itself in offices who only focus on experiences in the current life of the individual seeking counsel. In incorporating past-life experiences, along with my background in psycho-based training, I have found greater success with individuals who want to understand their issues. I primarily focus on following states (people will fall into one or more of these states) and work from there. The areas are as follows:

1.Beliefs

2. Assumed Limitations & Falty Assumptions

3. Blaming & Victims

4. Negative Payoffs

5. Masks Or Acts

6. Incompatible Goals & Values

7. Resistance To “What Is”

8. Mirroring

9. Fear

10. The Need To Be Right

11. Expectations

12. Clarity of Intent

13. Lack of Aliveness Or Motivation

14. Lack Of Self-Discipline

15. Misplaced Passion

Once people recognize which state is being questioned, it is amazing what can transpire with some guidance. We all have the answers within us and I believe strongly that a job of an advisor, counselor, coach is to guide people along the way. They have the answers to their difficulties, it's a matter of using specific techniques to pull information out from within them! This being said, you can look at these states yourself and with some measure of honesty, really reflecting on these areas, you can see where you can improve your life. Ask the right questions and explore your past - including past-life! I also have found Karma works very well and can reveal much information. For more information on Karma, have a look around the web. It's too extensive to get into in this hub. So, anyone can regress themselves with pre-made recordings that can guide you along. This is fantastic news as some of you can work on your own time uncovering all the hidden potential along with hidden unknowns before this time.

In this hub, I'll cover BELIEFS. The first state mentioned above.

Beliefs is something we all carry and for the most part don't question: Where it came from, why you hold it or don't know you carry a certain belief until a time presents itself. There are common beliefs and individual beliefs being carried, sometimes unnecessary. Many times having a certain belief is apart of feeling secure. The basis of beliefs is really being driven by fear. As I have learned, knowing is unshakable but a belief can be changed in time, under different circumstances. It's not a secure foundation but one that is implemented by a fear: Whether it be because you were taught to believe, or whether it's because focusing on any alternative would cause confusion, insecurity and the unknown.

Beliefs generate your thoughts and emotions which generates all experiences there in. Past-life programming should not be discounted here. In addition to what you may have learned, or auto-programmed to believe to be true, past-life experiences can show itself in such beliefs as well. I am talking about core beliefs we hold. Who and what you are and how that relates to your success, weight, health, relationships or lack of relationships, career, and everything else central to your existence.

One of my clients who came to me said she had always, since she can remember, hated her body. She had a problem with food and said no one in her family had any issues with weight, nor was this a topic of discussion amongst them. She always felt dissatisfied and held a belief she alone carried within her core. Again, no one in the family said she had a problem, nor was this an issue amongst her school mates. No one made fun of her, and she actually was average size - according to what our society deems as average size. But again, she had this issue which stopped her from doing and being all that she could be. Another example comes from a male client who came to me with a fear of being around large groups of people. I asked leading questions to uncover where/when he began to feel this way, and he couldn't give me an answer. He was around the age of 8 when all of a sudden he began to dislike being in open spaces. His parents were confused and tried everything to help him. Many visits were made to psychiatrists offices as well as psychologist offices. No one seemed to give him some answers to why he felt the way he did. This was disabling for him as you can imagine. I conducted a past-life hypnosis session with him, and more information was uncovered.

What Can Be Done?

Disharmony can occur with disharmonious beliefs which can stifle an individual in all areas of their lives. Recognizing which state of affairs needs attention is the first step. Writing down these disharmonious beliefs can also help you to become consciously aware of them and make it a real priority.  Once you become honest in recognizing/aware of your irrational beliefs, you can start on the road of re-inventing yourself. One step at a time and in time.

~ Begin by examining the belief in relation to what is reality. Test the belief against 'what is' and 'what can be without that belief'.

~If you cannot absolutely say what belief is a problem for you, regressive session(s) can help you.

~Once you are clear on that belief which no longer serves you, I suggest self-hypnosis or prerecorded tapes/cd's to help you establish new healthier beliefs.

~Being gentle with yourself, forgive yourself and move on to adopt new habits that will allow you to move past your situation. You beliefs as mentioned are not carved in stone. Developing new mantras, mediations, and other forms of activity can see you establish a new core within you. Think of it as breaking a bad habit and putting in its place a new habit. Remember, we are creatures of habit!
