I used to suffer from horrendous ear aches that I thought were related to allergies I went to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist who told me it was TMJ caused by grinding my teeth. Well I tried a few things like putting peroxide on a q-tip and swabbing my ears that helped a little but did not provide relief what finally worked best was using an eyedropper to flush my ears with peroxide, Advil to help reduce and Inflamation, and an allergy Treatment like zyrtec or claratin. Let the peroxide sit a while in the ear before draining and swab afterwards to remove excess Peroxide.
