For very many years there have been religious wars. We see it going on today. In my opinion,it is going to get worse. The wars are not just religion against religion,but can be sect against sect.

You have in the mix Muhammed,Buddah,and of course Jesus Christ. Everyone wants their way to be the right way so they can reap the rewards of their "heaven". In each of these religions there are sects. Christianity for example you have Baptists,Catholics,Methodists,Pentecostals,Mormons,Jehovahs Witnesses,and many others.{Sorry if I left yours out.} From what I have seen many in each of these sects think the other one is going to hell. I don't get it; all believe in Jesus Christ but are going to hell?

I have had to control my speech when visiting some "christian" people who proceed to tell me that another "christian" is going to hell because they are another sect. It makes me sick! That is exactly what causes wars.

Enough of all that,you know my stand. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ and I respect your beliefs. I'm not going to tell you your going to hell,but I'm also not going to jump to your beliefs either. Let's learn about some of the older religious wars. Maybe that will give us more incentive to stop the one's happening now.

From the 11th until the 13th centuries we had the Crusades. The goal of the Papacy was to take Jerusalem and the Holy Land from the Muslims.

The Popes used these to also take over other areas such as the northern crusades which was launched only for political reasons.

In France in the 16th century, they had many wars between the Catholics and the Protestants. This was called the French Wars of Religion. Many,many people died in these wars. Why? Didn't they all believe in the same deity?

In the first half of the 17th century, German states, Scandinavia (Sweden, primarily) and Poland were beset by religious warfare. Roman Catholicism and Calvinism figured in the opposing sides of this conflict, though Catholic France did take the side of the Protestants but purely for political reasons.

Can't we learn from history? All that comes from war is death and destruction. Would any god want that? If they did, why would we even want them as a god.

We CAN live together as human beings. It is ok to tell people about your beliefs,but not to make sure they believe the way you do. Ramming your beliefs down someone else's throat just causes dissension.

I have friends who are Islam,Buddhist,Jewish,Morman,etc... I love and care for them all. Jesus didn't teach me to do it any differently,just as I believe other religions in in-depth reality{deep in their scriptures}believe in peace with all man too.
