Why Retire/Move to Delaware.

Have you driven across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge at sunset on a warm summer night? It's an enchanting feeling when you reach the other side. There's a sense of calmness about the Delmarva Peninsula. When you drive down here and cross that bridge, it's like crossing into another time. When things were simpler and there wasn't a sense of constant urgency or a state of chaos.

I believe that is a lot of the attractiveness of why more people are relocating to this area. In Delaware we have the beaches, right next door to the rural farms, and back country roads. It's an experience to drive a moonlit road late at night, and feel as if you're the only person in the world.

Many people come here to vacation. In fact it's a tradition in my family that started with my grandparents in the 40's. My father tells stories of coming to the beach when Rt 50 was a single lane highway, and the ferry would take you across the bay. My father continued that tradition with my brother and I. Even know, I live here I still get that nostalgic feeling crossing the Assawomen Bay into Ocean City, and the smell of childhood when the salt air penetrates your nose.

My mother believed the ocean to be a great healer of any ailment. As a child, if my brother and I had, a rash, poison ivy, bug bits and any other imaginable skin irritation, she'd drive us down the ocean to go for a swim. We didn't mind, because we grew gills and would swim until our lips turned blue. However, when it was late October the water is still warm, but the air is ridged. Needless to say, you get out in a hurry.

I am a Realtor in Southern Delaware. I can explain to you why it would be financially beneficial to move to this great area, but what I have written above, you won't find on the MLS. I love this area, and I love what I do for a living. This area is saturated with agents, whom a lot of them are friends of mine, and good at what they do. Why choose me over some one else. I will explain why.

I have the compassion and understanding about making such a transition. My enthusiasm and energy rolls over into my career. Buying a house is more then paperwork and money. It's a feeling. A dream. It's love at first sight. I always tell my first time home buyers. You'll know it's the right house for you when you walk through the door. Weather, we have to look at one house, or a hundred houses.
