Remember When You Sleep- How fortunate you are
53Before you sleep, every night from this night on, take not your dreams for granted. You are blessed for you CAN dream. But consider this: - Over 90 million children under five in developing countries are severely malnourished- Over 500 million children have no access to sanitation facilities- 400 million children in developing countries have no access to safe water - More than a third of the world's children are not enrolled or don't attend primary school - The life expectancy for a Zambian-born child is only 33 years - 20 million children have had to leave their homes due to conflicts/human rights violations - Each year, 2 million children are sexually exploited in the world's commercial sex industry Each of us has worries that keep us up at night. I won't speak for anyone else, but I, for one, go to sleep on a warm bed and with a full stomach. And I dream. And I wake up every day with the opportunity to live my dreams. The next time you complain, or feel bitter, take it for granted that things could have been worse. And take all the opportunities you have been given and dreams you've dreamt --- and live them. You're one of the lucky few. There is so much unequality in our world. And thus far, my only contribution has been to add to it.

I think all too often, we fail to appreciate what we have.
