Interested in a remedy for insomnia?  How about several remedies?  The best way to tackle any kind of ailment is not to just try one solution at a time, but several all at once.  The idea is that at least one of them will work out for you or that they may work synergistically to create that much more of an effect.

Now if you’ve been dealing with insomnia for any length of time, you know just how disconcerting it can be.  It can leave you feeling tired and lethargic, unable to perform your daily tasks and it can even cause relationship related problems.

If you’re tired of dealing with the lack of sleep and are now searching for a proven remedy for insomnia, I have a few below which may be of help to you.  If nothing else has worked out for you make sure you try these tips:

1.        Can’t Sleep?  Get Up And Do Something

If you’re having trouble sleeping, one interesting remedy for insomnia is to just get up and go do something.  Do something that isn’t very stimulating though like maybe read the dictionary or go for a walk if possible.  When you come back after 30 minutes, you might be in a better mind state to fall asleep.

2. Get A Good Bed

Another great solution for insomnia is to get yourself the perfect bed. Perhaps your bed is not soft enough or your pillow does not support your head as well as it could. Do you find you have to place your arm under your pillow just to get comfortable for instance?

It’s key to make sure your bed is of good quality and setup so that you can fall asleep as quickly as possible. There are many beds that are specifically designed for people with sleep disorders, even special pillows that are designed to contour and support the neck. I’m sure you’ve seen these on late night infomercials, try getting these pillows or try getting a different mattress and see how that helps the situation.

3. Sleep On Your Back

Another remedy for insomnia involves you just sleeping on your back. By sleeping on your back you will allow all your internal organs to rest properly. Some people though do not find this comfortable, especially when it comes to breathing, so if this Is you and you must sleep on your side, make sure you sleep on your right side. Why? Because sleeping on the left makes your lungs, liver and stomach push up against your heart and thus cause undue stress.

By the way, it is never a good idea to sleep on your stomach. This causes pressure across all your internal organs and can also lead to shallow breathing as well as upper back issues.

So if you were looking for a remedy for insomnia, be sure to try out all of the above tips, they should help out at least somewhat. If nothing works though, be sure to see your doctor.
