Remembering Suzanne Pleshette

Suzanne Pleshette died last week. She had a very active career as an actress covering genre in the business.Drama, musical, comedy,TV serials, western.

She was in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds and most recently in Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks.

I personally remember her when as a teenage in the early 60's I went to see several times Rome Adventure starrring heartrobe Troy Donanue and the beautiful Suzanne Pleshette.

For the girls Troy was the simply the best. For us boys Suzanne was hot.

And both combined were dynamite.

May be they were not Oscar winning type in this film yet the movie was magical.

The romance of the conveyed sex without showing anything thing. It was hot Romance in a romantic city Rome.

Do you remember the song Al-Di-La?

Well that was another ingredient that made the film popular.

I particularly was in love with Suzanne in that movie.

Those beautiful eyes, hair and caressing voice haunted me in my dreams.

Boys wanted to comb their hair like Troy and girls imitated Suzanne's hair do .

The movie also presented many beautiful dresses.

And whenever I saw a look-alike girl in the street or at schools I just wanted to chew her up metaphorically speaking of course

I just wanted a girl friend like that.

But I was not Troy Donahue who by the way also died a couple of years ago.

Whatever boy who resembled Troy had a an advantage during those days.

Of course time and movie have changed and probably Rome Adventure would look ridiculous for nowadays teenage movie goers used to explicit sex scenes , strong language and violence.

Rome Adventure gave us then a couple of hours of ideal romance by a couple of beautiful people with Italy as a background and a great melody.
